Being lectured by George W. Bush
So, how has George's European trip gone down over here I hear you ask?

Well I'm sorry to report (although this may not come as an complete shock to you) that it has gone down like a sausage at a bar-mitvah.

You may have heard his "invading Iran would be ridiculous...but I haven't ruled anyhting out" line. Well, I suppose that's the kind the level you expect from the gimping embarrassment. It's just idiotboy talking, isn't it? His normal moronic self.

But what HAS fucked me off SO SO HUGELY is having this wanker come to Europe and lecture us (and make no mistake, that has been his tone: LECTURING) about "democracy" and "terrorism" and "freedom" and "right" and "wrong" and "evil" and all of this fucking garbage. It has been utterly, totally nauseating.

I ask myself: am I supposed to accept that this ridiculous, laughable, comic-book character, this man of no depth, insight or intellectual curiosity somehow has the cedibility to come here and EXPLAIN to us what "democracy" is? Like we need this fucking hack, this shallow, self-deceiving, sociopathic, criminal, immoral little man come here and somehow impart wisdom to us?? As if he has been deeply and profoundly considering these issues all his life and has finally decided to share his yaers of learning with us. DO ME A FUCKING FAVOUR!! I've had more introspective Big Mac Meals.

Thanks George, but stick it up your hole you pillock.

That said, it is not as though this fucking moron has even the slightest degree of credibility here on ANY serious topic (other than perhaps low-level insider dealing or mid-level substance abuse). He has zero credibility among people around the world. Everywhere he goes, there are blocks and block of city streets closed down, and he never sees any protests or even normal people going about their day...he is utterly isolated from the real world. I wonder if he has any idea how much people hate him? (Actually, seeing him go through an empty Brussels reminded me a bit of his inaugration(s!)).

He can come here and talk silly. Fine. No harm done. But when he thumps a lecturn and talks abut freedom being a universal gift that will spread blah blah blah blah...well, that's just too much to take.

Sorry, but rather you lot than me. My deepest sympathies.

when he gets back here we will be bombing Iran and thats when all shit breaks loose. It looks to me like we have a lot of soldiers in the gulf who will be sitting ducks to new Russian rockets Iran is said to have. Extremely fast and very accurate. I'm afraid the gulf will be running red with ours and others soldiers. Its sad. 'o by the way Ireland sure looks good.

11. Bush said that Iraq had WMD just like he is saying Iran has; the difference
is that he is blaming the nukes in Iran (that he says they have) on the Russians for having them for sale. Yeah! Let's bring the Russian in on this. What has the Russians said about the sale of nukes to Iran?

All you are in love with our little chimp and taking your new vows, en masse, to dedicate your lives to Jerry Fallwell and worship the American eagle at the alter of non-curious george (the second). It's simply wonderful how you all like to make him feel right at home! I do understand you've had your own georges to contend with in times past, and that "wankers" is a common term of endearment over there.

In any case, I'd like to get to the point. You know, you really can keep him if you like him so much. We'll miss him of course, but he can always come visit for short periods of time, only in Texas, and only to open Houston's biggest Guns and Doll Show exposition. Those are his "people" after all.

I say, send Bush to Ireland and have that wonderful woman reporter humiliate him on television for about an hour. We have reason to believe that Bush might actually enjoy it and the ratings would be excellent. You could package it as a cable television 'pay-per-view'event in the states and make millions.

We shall overcome. And while you're at it, please post some stuff for the sleazy Labour party across the channel. There is NO excuse for Blair being around anymore.

...Anna Ford was all smiles as she went on about him being "strong" or "uncompromising" or "the greatest swordsman in all England" or whatthefuckever. And never more than a passing reference to the protests.

In fact, on the day of W's second coronation, the number of times the procession was stopped because of protests - five - was coincidentally the exact number of words that Channel 4's main broadcast devoted to the subject - "There were some anti-war protests."

Mainz today will put every east-german city during Stalinism to shame, when the ever triumphant and victorious working-class had to celebrate it's ever triumphant and victorious government.

Besides that there is noone, who's celebrating or who wants to celebrate, and the whole city is a desert, a city of the dead, just the security measures put the Stasi and the KGB to shame.

A ghost in a ghost city talking with ghosts about different corporate and imperial interests, and how they could be combined against all of us, in the USA or in Europe.

Please God, let him eat more Pretzels...

36. You can't really get the flavor of George W. Bush
without a syncophantic media to whore his every word. The discordant effect of having virtually your entire media profusely kissing his ass no matter whether he wants to wreck your economy, start wars based on blatant lies, or destroy all progressivity in your civilization really adds an entire new dimension to the experience.

Plus, it really isn't the same having a visitor over for a few days, as knowing you're going to be cooped up in the same house for the next half a decade with the reprobate.

Sadly, it's only a short diversion for you. Imagine, if you can, what it might be like to be us.

His margin of victory was rather slim, but still suspect. Assuming you're in the Republic--congratulations for deciding electronic voting was not for you. Trust me, keep it simple & verifiable.

As a Texan, I've also had this fool as Governor. He was quite annoying then, but his mental condition has markedly deteriorated in that last few years. Still--the "Mute" button on the remote is handy whenever he pops up on TV.

Man, I wish you could meet him face to face, with him tied to a chair and you ranting at him! (I'm picturing this, you see) I wish he would get stuck somewhere with people telling him how they feel about his sorry ass and where he isn't protected by all of his handlers and he is forced to see how much hatred he has created in otherwise kind and loving people.

Anyway, great rant. And thanks for not hating all of us because of our evil government!

:hi:

"But with the German government unwilling to permit a
scripted event with questions approved in advance, the White House
has quietly put the event on ice. Was Bush afraid the event might
focus on prickly questions about Iraq and Iran rather than the rosy
future he's been touting in Europe this week?"

61. I would expect a Citizen of the Free World to feel as you do when being
subjected to the raving of Third World Tyrants such as the Emperor of Amerika.

Those of us who yearn for America to be free again share your feelings and your disgust at this Two-Bit Ferdinand Marcos.

Unfortunately, the Imperial Subjects of Amerika are as able to change their Rulers currently as the North Koreans.

(we just have the old Lying Window-Dressing to pretend Amerika is still America and a Member of the Free World)

What can I say but those of us trapped behingf the Teelvised Curtian of Imperial Amerika share your disgust.

Remember though, I STILL don't think he has won an election honestly yet.

Thank you for the sympathies. Back when America was free, I felt as you do regarding the poor, pathetic, unfree bastards liivng in the Soviet Union.

Now, of course, I would expect Free People to feel about ME and the erst of the Subjects of Amerika as I used to feel about the citiznes of Totalitarian Nations.

Thank you for he sympathies. Because the Transformation of America to Imperial Amerika hasn't even begun in earnest. We have so much further to fall and remember that George W. is the Tiberius of the Imperial Family of Amerika.

Caligula and Nero are still in our future. Hoepfully that quaint holdover from the Days of the Old Republic, the fact that Amerika is forced to change Emperors every 8 years, will delay the coming fo Caligula and Nero Bush.

63. Thanks for the perspective
and welcome to DU

Is there a special light in Europe that helps the folks see Bush for what he is? If so, I need 51 million of those for the citizens who voted for him last election!

65. Except this poster is from Ireland
and he didn't specify Northern Ireland, so he probably doesn't have the poodle to deal with (well, except for that unfortunate proximity-like Canada, I suspect Ireland can't divorce itself completely from it's neighbor's nuttiness).

Keep raving and don't let up!

I feel exactly the same way. I actually feel revolted by this man's being "welcomed" here.

68. The Liberty/Feedom thingy is but a cover for their ulterior motives
They will say all the right words and phrases but its in the actions that count.

First of all, he lied by omission to the American people; had they known what he intended to do IF elected, he woulda lost....

so he hid his agenda during the campaigne....

Now, he is trying to look John Wayneish by spouting Freedom/Liberty all over the Planet.... good looks but all rot underneath...

They are all snickering and laughing at OUR PRESIDENT who holds the position only by the LIE CHEAT STEAL MODE...

We Americans MUST BE ASHAMED this guy speaks for US..

He is embarrassing to the bone...oops, sorry Gannon

69. could you please charge him while he is there? I can think of a large
number of crimes against humanity the World Court might want to investigate. You realize that he is only the noxious visible part of the malignity that has infected out government.

70. Who heard him lecturing Putin on the importance of a free press?
I heard that little tidbit on MSNBC earlier this afternoon and couldn't believe my ears. If Bush feels the need to lecture anyone about a free press, he ought to look in a mirror.

72. Exactly !
The bushtapo has suppressed the American media to the point where it is nothing more than a choir singing praises to our new lord.

As I have said, if his lips are moving, then he is lying. The hypocrisy of the republican party is limitless, and they have just begun to defile our nation.

We hate the fuckin' moron too! While there may be many Americans who don't get the hypocrisy of his lectures, none of them frequent DU. Welcome!

74. he just finished hectoring Canada ...
Horrible, whining self-satisfied voice! He even tossed in some quotes from Canadian leaders, which his speechwriters had taken out of context and misinterpreted. I hate to think what he and his cohorts would do with Goethe and other famous Germans!

75. shhhhh, the American people will hear you and
.you don't want to interrupt their fantasy, do you? I'm sorry to say, my dear, that way too many of our folk here are a dead ringer for George. And they are damn proud of being anti-intellectual and just plain fucking dumb. They apparently don't understand that in today's world dumb can either end up inadvertently blowing up the world or dumb can mean that you cannot stay #1 for long because the smart people of Earth will eventually roll over you like a boulder over dung.
