3. Unfortunately
Those who didn't vote for him, will be ruined right along with those that did support him.

Too bad there isn't a way to make the cuts apply only to Bush supporters.

But, as someone who is definitely affected by this fucker's policies, I fully intend to shove their stupid enabling faces into what they've done and scream it in their ear as I kick the shit out of them.

24. I think it's the only way they'd learn
They fell for his lies hook, line and sinker. Didn't want to their own Bush family research and didn't want to listen to those who tried to tell. So now it's time for consequences. It sucks but hey, obviously Bush can still fool people with his whole "Christian" act.

2. Medicaid will end next month
in Mississippi unless the state legislature intervenes. A funny article in the paper this morning indicates that gop senators aren't too happy about the proposed cuts, especially their personal prizes. Let those headlines keep rolling in. The gop is on its way to permanent minorityship. It'll just take a few years and the dwindling false pride of those who now support him.

8. Here...
We are fixing to lose the bulk of Medicaid in Missouri as well. There have been cuts proposed that are going to take years to recover from if they go through.

I don't know what some of these people are going to do. We will create nothing but more poverty and disease.

15. Attention, please. The cuts are coming from the REPUBLICAN PARTY,
not Bush. The REPUBLICAN PARTY. As a lame duck, has not Bush promised to give REPUBLICAN congress members "political cover." Don't let the REPUBLICAN PARTY off the hook b/c its all Bush's fault, or Rove's fault. It is the REPUBLICAN'S fault.

It is called framing.

6. A female Canadian PM who ran and lost the election in Canada once
admitted during the campaign: "you never, ever discuss the important issues during a campaign" or something to that effect . She had been appointed PM by the Conservative Party after Mulrooney (the boy of the Reagan Republicans in Washington) resigned. She actually took her party - one of the oldest ones in Canada that had maybe had 50 seats in a very bad election out of 200+ ones available, she took her party and brought it to a 2 seat outcome. It decimated the party, a vacuum ensued, it went into the wilderness and emerged a decade later as a sort of new neocon one (filled with Canada's version of freepers).

The point is that that would be standard belief for Conservatives everywhere: we cannot win when we talk about our elite based issues so never mention them during an election. Bait & switch is just part of the requirement to get elected if you are a conservative. And extreme and open (amongst themselves) contempt of the electorate and the public is also a norm.

Kerry camp tried to warn that 'gutting social security' and 'a possible draft' were really the things on the agenda in the second term. But to not avail.

I hope we have all learnt the lesson now. And if we haven't ... then we need to teach each other that that is what conservative elections are about. For sure some issues are not brought forward during a campaign by all parties. But conservatives & especially neocons will hide the whole agenda. Iraq, along with making oil prices rise, covering up Bush Sr. complicity in promoting a monster, stopping 'deflation' in the USA economy, playing into the al Qaeda hands thus ensuring a long term enemy, etc. Iraq is also smoke. LOOK OVER HERE: for 8 years while the domestic USA is gutted.

7. Actually, to anyone who followed closely,
what was to come was being made apparent. It was reported many times that Shrubco was going to make big cuts in social programs in his second term. Sec of Treas, Snow, was saying it a lot as was the budget director.

Of course, to know this, people would have to actually pay attention to real issues and something being said about the Chimperor. Nobody did--but gays can't get married!!!!

11. Bush cuts hit Democratic states, analysis finds
By Susan Milligan, Globe Staff | February 12, 2005

WASHINGTON -- Massachusetts and other traditionally Democratic states would see their share of federal grant money shrink under President Bush's 2006 budget, compared to Republican states in the South and West, according to a Globe analysis of funding projections compiled by the White House budget office.

12. It is not Bush. It is the REPUBLICAN PARTY that is making the cuts.
Remember, it is the REPUBLICAN PARTY that is making the cuts. They are hiding behind the "political cover" of Bush and Rove, the lame ducks (in more ways than one.)

In fact, the less Bush is mentioned as the better for us. It is easier for the opposition to rally around a figure head than around a bunch of corporate masters known as the REPUBLICAN PARTY.

13. Well, now that you mention it...
It does seem that Baby Blunt is the one here in Missouri that is pushing the bulk of the cuts. I just assumed that it was coming from Washington, but I could be wrong.

Edited on Wed Feb-23-05 09:50 PM by K-W
It is coming, like everything Bush did, from the powers that be in the Republican Party.

Bush has always been a figurehead. The Republicans are playing for the future, not for Bush. He is a pawn now, not the king.

He doesnt have to win another election in his life. He will be faded into a pleasant myth like Reagan and he will be used for whatever cover they need on his way out.

21. And the powers that be are 'Conquering by Stealth and Deception' ......
An excerpt from The Yurica Report....

Conquering by Stealth and Deception

How the Dominionists Are Succeeding in Their Quest for National Control and World Power

By Katherine Yurica

September 14, 2004

Paul Weyrich’s Secret Manual on How to Win Politically

Since the writing and posting of my essay, The Despoiling of America in February 2004, there is more and more evidence that not only has a cultural war been launched, but that the plotters are winning it. “Dominionism” now looks more like a term that is applicable to both right-wing-religious believers and to the neo-cons who were created and born in an astonishing resurgence of an immoral Machiavellianism: both groups believe in domination and control. While religious adherents adopted a decidedly heretical Christian doctrine, the neo-cons continue to use the American churches to help execute their cabal. It was expressed this way by a Yurica Report talk board participant:

“One of the more sinister aspects of the current crisis is the influence of Leo Strauss on the pro-war, “neo-cons” who are determining so much of our foreign policy. While the Christian right thinks it is running the show, Leo Strauss’ irreligious philosophy is actually in control. Strauss believed that the rulers should not be religious, but should use religion to manage the people — which he evidently regarded as a stupid herd. He also believed that a state of war was great for controlling and directing the masses. So it’s all come together: the weirdest book of the bible , with its mysterious disasters; the scheming behind the scenes warmongers and an incident of terrorism that has served admirably as the Project for a New American Century’s hoped-for ‘new Pearl Harbor.’” Adrien Rain

Americans and the main-stream media have been very slow in catching on to the fact that we are in a war—a war that is cultural, religious and political. One document not mentioned in The Despoiling of America is the closeted manual that reveals how the right wing in American politics can get and keep power. It was created under the tutelage of Paul Weyrich, the man who founded the Free Congress Foundation. Conservative leaders consider Weyrich to be the “most powerful man in American politics today.” There is no question of his immense influence in conservative circles. He is also considered the founder of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank made possible with funding from Joseph Coors and Richard Mellon-Scaife. Weyrich served as the Founding President from 1973-1974.

Republicans. As a lame duck, he can do that without harming his chances for re-election. And in 2006 & 2008, Republicans can go to their constituents and say, "I understand your pain. I talked to the President, and will talk to him again."

But if we start screaming, IT'S THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, now, then their political cover is gone. They are named and blamed.

I would like to see, The Republican Party, substituted for Bush in every thread.

To paraphrase, inexactly...I don't know where Bush and Rove are. They don't concern me. I hardly think about them anymore. The real enemy is THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.

25. This is somewhat equivalent to commanders
who see the battle wavering and realize they have to fire into their own footsoldiers to get at the enemy. Of course the not-wealthy repugs are just more peasant spearcarriers to the elite planners so they will be cut down too. But it doesn't matter a damn to the socioeconomic elite since they see it as away to win the battle. The GOP peons never figure this out.
