I am very edgy. This usually only happens when something big is coming. Has anyone else been feeling this the past two days? Like a storm blowing in?

Can't explain it, though. Just a real sense of uneasiness that something MAJOR is about to happen. :scared:

35. I'm post-MS, so I know it isn't that
But then I've been emotional since I realized it's been a whole year since my dad died, so that could be part of it.

I just hope I'm not going to be this gonzo until the next election.

And I'd had such high hopes that my sleep pattern would return to normal after THIS election. No such luck.

61. I have found that anniversary dates of difficult and
tragic events set me on edge for several days to a week before the date, even if I don't consciously realize the date is coming up. I get a little edgy, I sleep more poorly, and tend to try to stress-eat.

Hang in there. It usually gets easier with time.

69. Sleep, sleep
Sleep pattern return to normal -- don't I wish. My sleep pattern is that I can't sleep, stay up until exhausted (till 1 or 2 a.m.) wake up late for work, run behind, work late, stay up late, then by Friday, I am so exhausted, I sleep until 10 or 11 on Saturday, nap during the day on Sat or Sun then stay up late Sunday, unable to sleep and thus the pattern continues...

I have a sleep pattern!

12. I do think something
It's like my mind is waiting for it to happen. I've been preparing myself lately. I don't know why. But my "intuition" has never failed me before. So I would prepare for something if you can. I've also been nervous but I don't know if that's just a personal thing or what. I've been trying to pinpoint the feeling but I can't since it comes and goes. But just hope and pray for the best and just be prepared.

17. Lol, nostra dumbass!
But really, there is not too much to laugh at. The evil bastards have everything lined up to suit their whims, which is extremely bad for the bulk of humanity. Who really knows which shoe will fall first;the demise of our economy, a horrific "terrorist" attack?

It is indeed coming, but none of us knows when. I predicted 2007, but i don't know shit. All I know is that we (my hubbie & I) have plans to not live under a marshal plan.

The rest of the world is making it plenty clear; they are fed up with shrub & his bullying ways. The world is rallying against us. I can not even begin to understand what that means to our survival. Things are going to begin breaking off relatively soon. I hope to maintain contact with my fellow DUer's.

PEACE

87. Only thing I can think of
Edited on Thu Feb-24-05 02:59 PM by FreedomAngel82
is to just prepare yourself and go about your daily lives and just spend time with loved one's and all that. Don't take each day for granteed. Live as if you're dying tomorrow. I do that anyways to get more out of life. Anyways. I thought about this last night and just don't know. Bush is over in Europe with Laura and the rest of his administration is very silent and that always makes me nervous. Nothing is really working out for Bush and we all know what happened last time this happened. He hasn't talked about his SS plan in a while and we all know he wants to go into Iran (part of PNAC). So I do worry. Also on the full moon sometimes I can't sleep on full moons (one time I was up till 5am cause of a full moon) but I'm never nervous. With me when I'm nervous it usually means something is going to happen whether with me personally or something in the world that will effect me personally. With the tsumani I didn't have this because it didn't directly effect my life. I guess it's like a warning from yourself. Sometimes I think I'm over paranoid, but then I remember who is running the country....

It had been a little slow for several years a while back, the next thing I knew an election is stolen and the WTC and Pentagon are being blown up (then anthrax - anybody remember the anthrax mail? How come JAG and Arnold Swartzeneggar haven't gotten to blow the guy(s) responsible for that away in a moment of testosterone fantasy-fulfillment? What? You mean this is real life and not a movie?)

* going down might make a very big twirling sound. I envision a swirling dark wind with demons and bats, sucking all evil into a big pit of fire and it will close off with a clank, and we will be back to what we once were. SWOOP! A puff of smoke and thats it. Bunnies and bluebirds will frolic out on the grass and tulips will start blooming.

Ah that feels better.

My Jaw aches from grinding my teeth. I keep looking for Breaking News. Has this sort of thread come up on DU before?

I don't remember feeling so nervous since my daughter was in labor for 24 hours and was told she had to have a C section. She asked me to go in the operating room with her husband. That is the kind of "OH MY GOD" anxiety I have. BUT.... OH, what a beautiful baby. (now 12 and still a sweety). Point is, going through the fear, I guess. Hold on. It might get bumpy!

I thought about last night dealing with the Bush administration. Sometimes I wonder if he even wanted to be President again. What if he tries something to get out of it? Know what I mean? Because just look at the 2000 election and the 2004 election. Maybe he didn't know he would get re-elected or something. He did horrible in the debates (even being wired) and he didn't do hardly any campaigning in Florida or Ohio.
Wasn't he in Florida a good bit in 2000? I didn't follow politics back then as much since I wasn't old enough to vote (and I would've Gore since I thought he was brilliant). What if Rove and Cheney are planting something to get rid of Bush and get out of the election because nothing is working out? I know it's a silly thing but it popped in my head last night while trying to sleep. They can always let John Kerry take over for a while and then in 2008 try again with another canidate (McCain maybe?)?

People should not dismiss this out of hand. Mankind is constantly making new discoveries concerning its place in this world. Rejecting these findings, whatever they may signify, would be akin to a misanthrope rejecting a conversation about the roundness of the world.

Ash clung to everything and people with respiratory problems were especially vulnerable. You couldn't go outside without a mask and it was difficult to drive in some areas.

37. His ratings are going down...
...as is his Social Security destructo-plan, and even though you don't hear that much about it now that the Iraqis are Truly Free and Independent and Democratic(TM), American soldiers are still dying at a rate of one to three per day and Iraqis at ten times that. Not that anyone's counting. You'd think it would occur to many people (or at least enough) that if there's another big attack, maybe this gang isn't so hot at protecting us and should be fired at the first opportune moment.

Of course, perhaps enough of Them(TM) understand that if the economy truly tanks, with or without outside stimulus, they might lose their own fortunes and have to take out their own trash. We surely can't bank on this, though.

Election Reform, Open Elections, Transparent Elections, Every Vote Must Count are memes we should be working on to make sure that we can oust this gang starting in '06 and then beyond.

I had a panicky feeling today and couldn't put my finger on it. I kept checking the news to see if "it" happened yet. Yes, I had a very "something bad is about to happen" feeling today. I just hope it was a fluke. Maybe fight/flight mechanism out of whack today or something.

47. Yes. I posted about it yesterday
Didn't get any response though. Maybe I posted it in the wrong forum.

I don't feel it as strongly today as I did yesterday. It comes and goes. Don't know what direction it's pointing. Been thinking a lot about the bird flu hype. Also worried about my kids on the gulf coast. Economic or environmental?

A few weeks ago I bought stuff that would help me if I had to live out of my car. Tent, sleeping bag, etc. So it's an underlying thing for me, but yesterday's feeling was very strong.

48. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with our location.
I noticed you're also from Missouri!

That's funny what you said. A few weeks ago I had this feeling I should stock up on things. I bought batteries, canned food, etc. just in case. I felt kind of silly about it when I got home with all my stuff and had to explain it to my husband but I was of the mind set that I should listen to my sixth sense because "better safe than sorry."

So far, I obviously haven't needed it so I hope I'm just being a little overly sensitive. But I guess it's better to try to be prepared and not need it than not be prepared and regret it.

96. I always listen to things like this
In the past I would ignore it and think "I'm being silly" but I've learned way too many times not to ignore it. I know I'm being warned for a reason.

this is really scary, last night it was bad, not so much today. I also was taking mental inventory on what I have in case I could not get the tent and bags...to make shift survival.

95. I don't know
what it's going to be but it is a very nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach. I usually don't feel this unless it's something directly with me so that worries me even more. It comes and goes and earlier in the week it was a very weak feeling but now it's coming around a bit more and I can pinpoint it more. It doesn't feel personal. At first I thought it might've been something else with me but this doesn't feel like it. I think if this was what I was thinking of it would've been around the heart chakra.

I started hearing "chatter" on NPR yesterday about W.H.O. announcing concern about the imminent possibility of a worldwide birdflu pandemic that could kill millions if the virus jumps to human transmission. NPR isn't usually a station that broadcasts hysteria, but then "who" knows nowadays???

58. Well, yeah.
Of course, I'm in DC, so a storm actually IS blowing in. We're finally getting a respectable snowstorm.

If Scott Ritter is right, SOMETHING will have to happen. There's no way we can go into Iran without a serious event.

Still, there's nothing to be gained by being afraid. They want us to be afraid, so when we are afraid, we let them win.

I'm not going to let those crazy people frighten me.

They are beatable. They are slow, and they are ignorant.

Even so, if something major enough happens that could enable an attack on Iran, the dead will be the lucky ones.

63. Yes, last two days. This morning, I found out my brother has been activated
My youngest brother (33 yrs old) is in the national guard. He has been notified. He such a fine man, and my son and I have a very close relationship with him. I dread telling my 14 yr old about his favorite uncle.

When my step-father called this morning to let me know, I sobbed. I am breaking into tears right now.

,...means a LOT especially since I am not very good at playing "strong" when I feel just, plain sad and scared.

I just, you know, love him so much and I don't want anything bad to happen to him because he really is such a wonderful person and does NOT deserve to be pulled into this nightmare. He's been the only consistent father figure in my son's life (whose father has never even contacted him) and he's been a supportive friend to me.

*sigh*

I mourn for all the innocent people who are being forced to bear an undeserved suffering imposed by this disgusting leadership.

72. Strange! I've been so edgy all week
Having anxiety that makes me immobile. I've had a hard time motivating myself to go to the gym, because I don't want to "miss" anything on the news. Also, I've been drinking more than usual to calm my self before bed (red wine in the evenings). My fiance has felt the same too (bad insomnia and feeling a weight on his chest)

74. I have been this way since the election.
It's like this nagging, unpleasant feeling at the edge of consciousness. Although the intensity has subsided since December (I am no longer waking up at 3 am unable to get back to sleep because of some intense but undirected anxiety), the "push" at the back of my mind has gotten more insistent. If that makes any sense.

I find myself reluctant to make long-term financial plans, and keep also finding myself thinking random thoughts during the day about buying canned food, foreign currency, stuff like that, when I least expect it.

It's very strange. I have never had another period in my life where I felt such a constant, long-lasting sense of unease for absolutely no reason at all. I am convinced at this point that something pretty catastrophic is going to happen soon. I don't know what it is though - whether it is a financial collapse, or the flu, or terrorism, or some natural disaster or what. But something is bothering me all the time.

99. Holy cow, so I'm not the only one!
The last several weeks when I have gone to the grocery store, I find myself impulse buying on automatic pilot! I walk down the isle, and say to myself, this looks good or this is a good buy, never remembering that I already have three just like it at home!! And it is always non-perishable food: extra rice, beans, canned veggies, pasta, you name it! My pantry overfloweth! LOL, if no disaster comes, at least I can help the food bank!

And the NIGHTMARES:

80. To get the draft you need another LIHOP/MIHOP
The feeling you are getting is similar to the Sitzkrieg of 1940, which culminated in the Invasion of France and the Netherlands, I believe.

Imperial Amerika is undergoing a similar Sitzkrieg, the only difference is another Psychic Shock will have to be arranged to make the draft palatable.

No later than 2007, probably MUCH sooner, because the quaint Imperial Amerikan tradition of switiching Bushevik Emperor's every 8 years means they have to move fast.

We are at the halfway point of the 7-year Tribulation period. The Second Coming will take place in 2008 when the forces of Darkness are defeated and a Democrat enters the White House.

I don't believe in any of that Christian eschatology, but it does seem to jive nicely with current events.
