Bush just told a boldface lie about our country being "transparent"
Edited on Thu Feb-24-05 12:21 PM by hector459
Holding prisoners and never telling them what they are charged with is tranparent government?

Planting a fake journalist in the WH Press room is transparent government?

Witholding documents on how energy policy is formulated is transparent?

Lying about the costs of new Medicare policy is transparent government?

What we have in America is government by "deception."

If lying makes a government or democracy "tansparent" then I guess maybe Bush is right.

2. Some people don't know the difference between
transparent, translucent, and opaque.

Maybe Bush meant to say our government is opaque.

4. Saw it on CNN
Yeah. The Russian journalist who asked the question is gonna lose his accreditation. Did you catch what he said at the end of the question? Something like "Would you two gentlemen comment on this, or are you just going to shake hands and be friendly with each other?" What a guy.
