Question regarding JimmyJeff's websites-past or present

Ann Coulter and others in the media say that JimmyJeff's sex-for-sale websites were from yrs ago. I saw them last week (the websites, not AC and others). What are they talking about? Perhaps he started the sites yrs ago, which would technically make them years old, but they were still up and current last wk, which makes them present tense to me.

I'd like to be able to counter people's protest along this line and am tired of the "they're lieing sacks of bs" answer. Is there any truth to this contention?
