Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Pols
Being from Massachusetts, I've told my junior Senator "I have your back". You see, Corsi plans to relocate from New Jersey to Massachusetts to establish residency and run for Senate against Kerry in 2008.

Dems going nuclear over book's Iran claim
by lloyd Grove

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/284007p-243240c.html

After their bitter campaign 2004 experience with the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, John Kerry and his fellow Dems aren't waiting to be shot at again. Yesterday, aides to Sens. Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy jumped all over literary mugger Jerome Corsi, co-author of the Kerry-bashing best seller "Unfit for Command." They knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the face (metaphorically, anyway) over his next Democrattrashing tome, "Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians."

The book - which Nashville's Cumberland House Publishing won't release till next month - claims Democratic pols are being corrupted by Iranian money and helping the nuke-seeking mullahs in Tehran. But Kerry spokesman David Wade told me yesterday: "I doubt anyone who isn't wearing a tin-foil hat will take their foreign-policy cues from a proven liar who became infamous smearing the Pope, Catholics, Jews and Vietnam veterans." Kennedy aide Stephanie Cutter piled on. "You have to ask yourself: Does Mr. Corsi really believe the stuff he writes, and if so, shouldn't he get some professional help?"

<snip>

But Corsi refused to provide me with galleys of his book, saying that with the publication date a month away, it was way too early for publicity. But my colleague Richard Sisk of the Daily News Washington bureau, obtained the galleys. Sisk sent a summary: "Fellow named Hassan Nemazee apparently is the archfiend of Corsi's plot. ... Nemazee evilness connector supposedly is something called the American Iranian Council, for which he used to be a board member.

"Page 255 says: 'Hassan Nemazee ... one of John Kerry's top fund-raisers in his 2004 presidential campaign, was a board member of the AIC. Nemazee funded a long list of Democratic party candidates. ... At every event where Democratic candidates have been present, the AIC has been certain to press its agenda to restore economic and diplomatic ties between Iran and the United States." But it turns out that Nemazee served on the AIC board with respected academics, former Sen. Bennett Johnston (D-La.), Halliburton CEO David Lesar and a former vice chairman of ChevronTexaco, among other worthies. Yesterday Nemazee - a wealthy Manhattan financier, U.S. citizen and Democratic Party donor who was Kerry's New York fund-raising chairman - told me that Corsi is risking a slander suit if the book says he's an agent of the Iranian government.

Atomic Iran
How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians

Jerome R. Corsi, Ph.D.

With the reconstruction of Iraq under way and the distraction of the U.S. presidential election behind us, focus will once again turn to a gathering threat—The Islamic Republic of Iran. A charter member of the “axis of evil,” this rogue terrorist state and the mullahs who govern it are on a collision course with American and European governments that seek to end its development of nuclear weapons. The influence of Iran cannot be discounted, however, because it has perfected the art of oil price manipulation in order to fund its nuclear endeavors, terrorist activities, and strategic contributions to key U.S. politicians who, in turn, work diligently at normalizing diplomatic and trade relations between the two nations.

In Atomic Iran, Jerome Corsi, co-author of the best-selling Unfit for Command, uncovers the true intentions and practices of the Iranian regime and gives light to the aid and comfort being supplied by some key U.S. politicians. Uncovered is a web of pro-Iranian financiers who make significant campaign contributions to political leaders who affect U.S. trade policy towards Iran and are able to work at normalizing diplomatic relations, thereby legitimizing the rogue republic. This poses an immediate security threat to the United States. It allows the regime to take advantage of relaxations in the Patriot Act to begin importing terrorists under the disguise of diplomatic personnel.

Also revealed is the manipulation of world oil prices by Iran. Its restriction of supply has the dual effect of hindering the growth of world economies and increasing revenue for Iran, which is then used to fund international terrorism and its own deadly pursuits. Dr. Corsi warns that a nuclear Iran would devastate the Middle East through its tyrannical policies and threats and would have a significant impact on the world by using its control of 40 percent of the global oil supply to hold nations hostage with oil prices rising to over $100 and even $200 per barrel.

Atomic Iran is a wake-up call to Americans. It is a call to pay attention to the growing crisis with Iran and to hold U.S. politicians accountable for their relationships with and efforts on behalf of the Iranian regime. By understanding the events that led to Iran’s arrival at the verge of nuclear statehood, the intentions of the mullahs, their connection with American politicians, and the severe repercussions to be suffered from allowing the regime to proceed with its plans, readers of Atomic Iran will be equipped to take the debate to their local communities and to the officials they have entrusted with their safety and security.

3. Jerome Corsi
Jerome Corsi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerome_Corsi

Jerome (Jerry) R. Corsi' is an author and conservative activist. Corsi is best known as co-author with John O'Neill of Unfit for Command. This book, written in cooperation with Swift Vets and POWs for Truth (formerly known as Swift Boat Veterans for Truth), is strongly critical of John Kerry's Vietnam War record. Most of its primary charges have been disproved.

Corsi holds a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University. His 1972 dissertation was titled Prior Restraint, Prior Punishment, and Political Dissent; a Moral and Legal Evaluation.

Corsi has posted many articles to the conservative Free Republic web forum.
<1> (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1100812/posts?q=1&&page=201#247) Critics contend that his contributions there demonstrate bias with regard to Kerry. In addition, many of his comments were widely perceived to be insensitive to gays as well as anti-Muslim, though Corsi claims that these postings were failed attempts at humor:
First let's undermine the US in Vietnam. Then we can go for gay marriage. When you get to be Pres. JFK-lite, there will be no end to how much of America we can destroy.
<2> (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1136863/posts#41)
Just don't let anybody put a tablet with the Ten Commandments in front of the school where that girl wants to wear a Muslim scarf -- OH, No --- then the RATS would complain. Anti-Christian, Anti-American -- just like their Presidential Candidate -- Jean Francois Kerrie.
<3> (http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1108349/posts?q=1&&page=101#109)
After he married TerRAHsa, didn't John Kerry begin practicing Judiasm? He also has paternal gradparents that were Jewish. What religion is John Kerry?
<4> (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1090654/posts#17)
Kerry has a long history of Communist supporters.
<5> (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1095989/posts#41)
Kerry offers a clear choice. Anti-American hatred.
<6> (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1073779/posts#13)
John F*ing Commie Kerry and Commie Ted discuss their plan to hand America over to our nation's enemies.
<7> (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1071052/posts#27)
Isn't the Democratic Party the official SODOMIZER PROTECTION ASSOCIATION of AMERICA -- oh, I forgot, it was just an accident that Clintoon's first act in office was to promote "gays in the military." RAGHEADS are Boy-Bumpers as clearly as they are Women-Haters -- it all goes together.

4. Corsi and the Swifties are anti-GI
Corsi's "Swifties" include some grossly incompetent Naval Officers (as a former Naval Officer myself - I use the term advisedly) whose negligence resulted in two "friendly fire" deaths -- and whose positions of power and authority enabled Corsi's clients to engineer a massive cover-up of their own negligence.

Swifties for the Truth support our troops? Kiss my butt - they kill them and cover it up.

5. I think Kerry should sue him too
for the swifties lies...if he did that, they'd be able to get him under oath, where he would have to say his claims were heresay or stretches...isn't he the one that shot a civilian and said it was Kerry's fault because he wouldn't have been there to kill the guy if Kerry hadn't made them go in? If he's the one, I think he's a drunk who is having a hard time living with what HE did and is blaming Kerry so he doesn't have to blame himself.

7. World Net Daily, a partner in this book venture...
...is also a conservative blog. Here is their "news" story from Yahoo news:

This brings to mind Chevey Chase's WE signoff - "If you don't like the news, go make some of your own."

9. Corsi is an ass, period. However, he still may reek much
Corsi is an ass, period. However, he still may reek much havoc via the sheer volume and noise created by him and around him. After all, this ass is in the business of, is making money off of, bashing John Kerry to illiterates. And it sells. As does most of today's similar garbage being pedaled to illiterates as if sold by snake oil salesmen of yesterday from the back of a covered-wagon.

Unfortunately, it's damn hard to win a lawsuit claiming libel (defamation of character from written materials). Why? Because in order to prove libel in any court in America, the claimant (plaintiff) must prove "malicious intent" (actual malice) whenever the claimant is a "public figure." John Kerry is a public figure. Hardly, if ever, is it possible to prove "malicious intent" (actual malice), which is why lies and more lies are possible regarding politicians (all of whom are public figures).

If anyone is curious enough, look up New York Times v. Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254 (1964). It's the precedent U.S. Supreme Court case that defined and opined the legal test for defamation of character as to a public figure. And it's still law today.

12. Not-so-swift watch group
Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 07:59 PM by paineinthearse
RamboLiberal and I have discussed the possibility of forming a DU "Not-so-swift" watch group. We would need 10 members to petition the admins. If you are interested, PM RamboLiberal or me. In the subject line, include NOTSOSWIFT.

Read the “organization” rule - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=206x10

Draft mission statement.

1. To monitor activities of the Swift Boats Vets/POW's group.
2. Alert DU members to activities.
3. Educate DU members of their hateful campaigns and deception.

We would do this by:

1. Monitoring the Swift Boats Vets/POW's web site and press releases.
2. Maintain Disinopedia.
3. Discussing strategy away from DU in a member-only Yahoo group.
