Rethugs chanting...Got this in an email
We couldn't believe our ears when we heard a group of Republicans chanting, "Hey, hey. Ho, ho. Social Security has got to go" on CNN last night. But that is what they did, outside Senator Rick Santorum's Social Security town hall meeting in Philadelphia.

In the meeting, Santorum, the leading supporter of privatization in the Senate, declared that "it is time for a Republican solution to Social Security." But the Republicans gathered outside were more clear about where that plan ultimately leads. For Bush's conservative base, privatization of Social Security is just the first step toward getting rid of the program entirely.

These chants provide a good hook to get letters to the editor printed in your local paper, and the timing couldn't be more perfect -- Members of Congress are home this week, and will be scanning their local editorial pages. Can you take 5 minutes to write a letter to the editor on the Republican social security scam? You can find your local paper, submit a letter online, and even check out video footage of the chants at:

1. Is the Republican solution "the Final Solution?"
Is the real objective to drown the Social Security baby in the bathtub?

8. AHHHH, I see...
Fascists hate all forms of perceived "socialism." Because anything that may help someone is "socialism." I wonder why they all have health care. That's socialized medicine.

7. Hitler youth also wanted to get rid of the elderly and those they
felt were a burden to society. The chanters in that video, Rush Limbaugh listeners no doubt, are probably convinced that Social Security recipients are nothing more than welfare queens out to steal their money.

11. What they really want: Xian charity ONLY
My own belief is they want to create a society in which the entire safety net would be provided on a voluntary basis, preferably by church organizations. These organizations would be free to compell at least a superficial conversion to their own particular brand of Xianity.

The conversion requirement has already been seen overseas (including in Tsunami relief).

These people make me sick.

14. On Second Thought...
I have no problem with those who want to opt out of the social systems of this country to do so. I'm not just talking SSI, let's take ALL government out of their lives. No Medicare...hell, the pharmacutical and insurance companies surely offer a far more cost-effective means when a person reaches old age and constantly battles ailments. Let's go further...they have to pay to drive on Interstate and U.S. Highways as they didn't pay to build or maintain them.

Listen to fundie like Dobson and others and you'll hear a parallel world they've formed where the laws, taxes and morals they chose not to obey or participate in are immoral. Of course, they'd welcome you to "their world" if you submit to a total lobotomy.

I love to challenge these idiots to their own hypocrisies. Ask them if they'd be willing to give me their money to invest...since I am considered a very good money manager...I'll get them a 1% a year more return than what they get right now, but I'm gonna charge them a fee on the balance of their account each year...which could wipe out most of that extra interest. Their mind boggles...then I say, this is exactly what their regime wants them to do.
