Father of hydrogen bomb finally dead

STANFORD, Calif., Sept. 9 — Edward Teller, who played a key role in U.S. defense and energy policies for more than half a century and was dubbed the “father of the H-bomb” for his enthusiastic pursuit of the powerful weapon, died Tuesday, a spokesman for Lawrence Livermore Laboratory said. He was 95.

He just figured out how it worked.

Its far far better that we found it first, than others.

Could you imagine if the Muslim nations found it first?

All that said, If it were me, I would personally have a very hard time living with myself, for bringing such a terrible weapon into the light of day.

6. it's worth mentioning....

...that Edward Teller was vehemently opposed to the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima, opting instead to push for his suggestion that detonating it five miles in the sky above Tokyo to give the Japanese a chance to surrender.

His drive to increase the arsenal and his design for the hydrogen fusion bomb has alot to do with his younger days and seeing what attrocities the other side was cabable of, and the fact that some of his family was killed by Nazis and communists.....
