At one time in the 70's Nixon is said to have remarked to Haldeman

that he envied Barbara Bush because she knows how to hate. I wondered about the distorted lives the Bush clan leads ;perhaps, it is because Barbara Bush was unable or unwilling to give them unconditional love.

On another note, the fact that Nixon would envy Barbara Bush seems appropriate. Only a man as dysfunctional as Nixon could envy a person like Barabara Bush.

How they got to be our favorite dynasty I'll never understand. Their actions - over many generations - often seem explicitly un-American and fascist. Is God punishing us?
