Was gay Republican Ed Schrock a victim of organized blackmail?
Ed Schrock was a two term Republican from Virginia. He was as rabidly anti-gay as the rest of them until blogActive.com outed him in August 2004. Not that anyone feels sorry for him, but he was forced to abandon his bid for re-election. They had recordings of him engaging in phone sex at a gay phone sex line.

Is it standard practice for phone sex operators to promise discretion but secretly record their clients? Only if they wanted to blackmail their clients. Since they have their customers' credit card information, there's no doubt as to their identities.

My theory is that Jeff Gannon was part of a blackmail operation, run by our government, specifically to entrap closeted military officers. His military-themed web site sought out military officers -- here are some excerpts from his "testimonials":

"I am an active duty senior officer in the US Army. Discretion is of utmost importance to me. ... The sex was great, he's a hard core top, verbal and strong, never romantic, but not mean. ... Being military also, we had much in common. I feel completely at ease that my secret is safe with him."

Here's another excerpt of a testimonial:

"I am versatile, 40+ year old career military man. ... Because of my position I cannot find someone compatible in the usual ways. I am luck y to have found this jarhead."

Given the don't ask don't tell policy of the military, the outing of any officer means the end of his career. It's possible that the purpose of the escort service is to identify gays so that they can be kicked out of the military. However, I believe the real purpose is to keep them from speaking out about this administration.

There are a lot of career government officials who are plenty pissed off at what bush is doing to our country. These people know about the false WMD claims, the missing billions in reconstruction money, and the unwinnable mess in Iraq. They have the ability to blow the lid open on the corruption of this White House. Bush desperately needs to keep these people from talking and sinking his administration, so he controls them using blackmail.

My guess is that homosexual blackmail is just one aspect of the operation. A heterosexual blackmail operation probably exists. There's also probably one related to finance, where the victims are lured into high-profit business transactions that aren't quite legal.
