1. They're only counting the ones who are DRT or DOA
(dead right there or dead on arrival). They're not counting the ones who arrive alive to be treated, and especially the ones who are stabilized enough for evacuation. If they die later of their wounds or of complications from them, they are not listed as combat deaths.

This administration Enrons EVERYTHING.

2. Wouldn't be able to find out without
looking to Germany. I wish I could remember where I read that or heard that, but they have been moving any who are injured out of Iraq to Germany to keep the death numbers down. If they die in Iraq, it counts, and if they die in Germany, it doesn't. I can't remember where I heard that.

4. I ran into a story last year that the DOD is very happy with the
medical care our troops in Iraq are getting. They have the lowest death rate of any war so far that we've fought. The percentage is 6%.

Now we get to the number wounded. So far I think the offical record is around 10,000. Greg Palast reported on one of the battles against Fallujah - 250 wounded. They were sent to Germany. The German hospital received 450. Greg Palast's question was: "Who shot the other 200 on the airplane". So the number of wounded is a lie too. I saw another report that 30,000 soldiers have put in for medical assistance to the VA. This was for both Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, I don't think the number of troops wounded in Afghanistan is 20,000 since that would be everyone. So most of these have to be from Iraq. And these are just the ones who have applied.

So you can do the math from here 6% of 20,000 is 1,200 troops. That would be a minimum. There are still the stories of the mass graves of US soldiers and the dumping of dead solders in body bags into the rivers.

5. You will NEVER know, until they "build a wall"
and put the names there.. (which will NEVER happen)

From a government standpoint, thats the "beauty" of the way our military is constituted.

Soldiers from all over the place congregate into a cohesive unit, and are deployed, but as they die or are injured, they "return" to the US one by one, to their grieving families. Once "delivered" home, they are no longer "findable". Sure, local papers might do a story on the returning hero, or the killed-in-action hometown boy/girl, but once that happens, they are invisible.

The waiting families are likely "off-base" people these days, and are not in immediate contact with many people who even served with their dead/wounded soldier.. They get the flag or the wounded soldier, and then they get nothing .

Until there is a national registry of parents/wives/husbands/sisters/brothers/etc... applace where they can all check in and report on the status of THEIR loved one, there will be NO real accounting ..

The military will always downplay their own casualties and inflate the enemy's, so we already know we cannot trust them..

So ...we will never really know, and that's by design. The defense dept can always refute claims of any numbers given, because they never release the accurate numbers..

6. The neoCONspirators HATE you for asking that question.
So,....MAKE THEM ANSWER IT!!!!

They are increasingly hiding what's happening. They can continue to do so until until they can no longer HIDE THE TRUTH.

And when they can no longer hide the truth, they will try to throw us into a turmoil to which only we can say NO.

7. so how do we make them answer it?
Help me think this out.

Can I do an FOIA request for the number of soldiers who have died in Germany?
