Especially if that person is of a political stance that is not one you share. This post is, in fact, open to anybody - especially lurkers who are capable of intelligent discussion.
For me, and on a generalization, freedom is this:
Freedom is the ability for a person to explore the world. To be allowed to live independently, if such a state is desired. To freely question what doesn't seem right, and to be tolerant of others who do the same thing - even if they speak of things you may not agree with. To think independently. And, most of all, to repel oppression and the forces of destruction.
Now, I have no intention of insulting any DUer or lurker. So I will ask beforehand: Does anybody want me to take a chance and expound in greater detail, and to give examples of, what 'freedom' truly is?
