How do you define "hope"...
Hope is for the future. Hope is positive. For Hunter S Thompson, hope was the last bullet in the gun. What is your definition of "hope"?

... "Desire and expectation rolled into one."

Therefore, hope itself is not necessarily positive, or advantageous to the future.

What one hopes for is far more important.
