I didn't want to put this under breaking news because its not really nation-wide news, and i really wanted to talk about it somewhere.
In St. Louis today, around 5:30 PM, a man shot and killed his wife and her female friend in some obvious domestic violence case. His wife had put a restraining order on him in January.
The man tried to get away. He got in his White Suburban and started an 1+Hour chase on 2 major highways, both Highway 2-70 and Interstate 64. It gets more interesting.
As I was driving home from crew practice, I noticed about 4 helicopters flying fairly close together. I didnt think much of it since a hospital with a heli-port was right next to the highway. I then see a White Suburban, going at least 115 Mph, weave in and out, nearly hit me, and speed up ahead weaving in and out of rush hour traffic.
I see 3 cops, about a minute later, chasing him but keeping their distance. I turn on the radio and the chase had been going on for about an "hour and a half", to quote Traffic Reporters from KMOX (the only good st. louis based news radio station... which is unfortunutly damned to hell because they air Limbaugh's show).
There is a highway bridge that passes over a road. Its a common on-ramp/off-ramp site, with grassy hills on both sides. The White Suburban spins out of control, hits a hill, completely jumps over the 4 lane road, and lands on the hill on the other side. I have to say, since we don't get anything exciting in St. Louis, this was sure interesting.
