Who is really for Veterans?
Which party dominated by liberals consistently votes to increase funding for veterans?

Which party often votes to cut veterans' benefits?

The President of which Party started a war in Iraq based on an evaporated reason that he has had to change on the fly?

Which party left 241 marines twisting in the wind in Lebanon in 1983?

Which party, which side, tolls the bell for the 1,500+ dead and the 11,000+ wounded? Which party pays lip service to that sacrifice, waving flags and ribbons while hiding coffins?

Which President wears a Ralph Lauren jumpsuit, complete with a faux bulging crotch extraordinaire, and declares "Mission Accomplished" as a prelude to thousands of future casualties?

Which side besmirches the men and women who serve this country by slipping a fake ex-marine journalist with a military prostitution website into the White House press corps?

We'd like to thank the Veterans and Soldiers and Sailors of America. We'll help you any way we can - like we always do.

4. Sad, isn't it?
And soldiers STILL voted overwhelmingly for the nitwit (at least that's what we were told ;)).

6. Were we even told that?
I really got the feeling the results of the overseas absentee votes were kept quiet. It was one of those deception by omission thingys that the Bush* administration and their GOP agents in the registrar of voter offices are famous for. Maybe it's just me, but that's the way I read it.

7. The only thing veterans are good for....
is stirring up patriotic feelings in the electorate.

I'm a veteran and it pisses me off that we are used as political footballs. Each side tries to claim us. Yet, come home dead, wounded, or mentally impaired and they could give a shit about you. I want this government to live up to the contract we signed but, that is it.

We are no more deserving of respect than any other human being and I wish folks would quit trying to blow smoke up my ass so I'll vote for them.

I'm not articulating my feelings very well and I'll bet some of my fellow vets are offended. Believe me this is not meant to offend anyone.

8. I know EXACTLY what you mean ...
I, too, am a vet and it embarasses me when people say, "Thanks to the vets" for starters because it is bullshit and second because it's not something that was that big a deal.

I fucked up when I joined. It was not something I wanted to do after I signed up.
