Will the Iraqis have a "Patriot Day" to remember the thousands
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 09:17 AM by Billy_Pilgrim
of civilians killed by American bombs?

The question isn't asked to disdain or make light of the Americans being thought of today, I'm near tears as the moments of silence tick by. All life is sacred and to listen to the neocons calling CSPAN earlier this morning suggest we nuke Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine makes me fear the path America may take in the future.

Death does not have to beget more death. Pray for peace, we're all on the same bus.

Feel safe.

1. I often think about this too
Their suffering amounts to nothing on America's barometer of what counts.

The only thing this day commenmorates is the Right wing who exploit it.

2. Too many people here don't seem to feel that humanity extends beyond
the borders of America.

Sigh.

3. Totally!
And why is everybody so careful and apologetic about their comments today? Why isn't the thread about Rumsfeld defining patriotism already a mile long? It's possible to respect the people who died on 9/11 and criticize the evil scumbags who use their deaths for political purposes. It should be as okay to say that today as any other day.
