I am so God Damn Tired of Waiting for the Worm to Turn
So tired of hoping my morning paper will bring news of serious trouble for Bush.

So tired of checking LBN, Atrios, Kos, etc. for news that the jig is finally up for these bastards.

So tired of fooling myself that the male prostitute fake journalist expose could possibly spell trouble for Bush.

So tired of waiting YEARS for Plame to bear fruit.

So tired of the braindead fucks that support this cruel hoax.

So tired of this Teflon presidency.

Fuck.

1. I Hear Ya There
I'm fucking sick of it, too...

Goddam proven payola, and who gives a shit? not the MSM!!!

But if it had been payola to "journalists" to push Clinton's agenda, the MSM would be all over it!!

Liberal media, my ass!

4. I just want life to be better again. That's ALL I want. I can't even
believe it's gotten so bad. It's like a really, really bad dream, where upper-middle class families can't pay their bills while their children drop out of school because the schools don't have the money to teach them anymore. It's so bad. The Republicans don't, and never will, "get" it.

6. This is the seat of our problem
We keep expecting the worm to turn. The pendulem to swing back the other way. We are relying on what we think history has taught us that there are cycles. But the fact is that there were people being oppressed in history. There was suffering. It took those who rejected the oppression to rise up and grasp the pendulem and force it back the other way. We have to grab the worm and wrestle it back to where we think it needs to be.

Want things to change? Then change them. You can't sit around waiting for some magic hand to adjust things for us. Its up to us.

Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 08:32 PM by Stevendsmith
I'm going to restrain my anger here, because I know you mean well, and you speak the truth.

But, dammit, I knew someone was going to assume from my post that I was sitting on my ass waiting.

I'm not.

I am active.

I'm going to stop writing now, because I'm getting angry.

17. Exactly
Its not going to be one person. Its going to be millions. Realizing they are being sold down the river. Millions standing up and insisting that there must be a better way. But its going to happen one person at a time. Some of us here are awake. But we have to wake more.

7. So, You're really looking forward to Jeb running Huh?
And I also saw a story covering that black tie event they hold in Texas every years ... what do they call it?... Shit Kickers Ball? Anyway, They introduced a kid , a nephew also named George (starting to sound like Forman's family) and the reporter said that there were hopes for a bright future in Government for him ... according to family members. I think the Bush family are spawns of the Devil working to bring about Armageddon.

8. Keep the faith folks
his time is near. Prediction by several psychics over in the Astrology/Spirituality Grp are very clear: Starting by in March-April *co. will begin to fall and that by 11/06 he will disappear from public life all together...whether my impeachment, gov't scandal or an ____________, no one knows.

One of the predictions is that THE MEDIA will 'turn on' co.

Crazy as it may sound, these predictions (collectively)have given me some hope!

I just pray that most of his policies can be reversed!

14. We are reduced to hoping the predictions of PSYCHICS come
true???? This is even worse than I thought! Why don't we start a fricking religion that believes that in two thousand years, if we are good and suffer through this we will be lifted into the sky naked and taken away from all this shit?

Can't we do better than this???

I, too am sick of waiting. Waiting for Bin Laden to hit our country again because Bush was and is clueless, waiting for the liars to be chased out of office, waiting for the runaway inflation, shortages, etc. that are bound to come. But hoping for psychic predictions doesn't cut if for me.

19. Grasping at predictions depresses me even more
because I realize it's desperate - but yes, I admit I do read the ones predicting political doom and gloom for current administration. Then I shake my head and laugh at my own desperation which led me to reading them.

21. Listen the word is out
I have been reading a lot of weird stuff in the foreign press on GWB and his staff, it's unbelievable, the foreign press doesn't like him one bit, stuff that you would believe that makes the Gannon Guckert thing look like the boyscouts, if this stuff is true and spreads to the press in this country, the lid will blow off.

9. The worm has turned, it's just not in the direction we wanted.
It will take something of a monumental nature now to change anything. The press is dead.

The vote is locked up from the people.

The path is set and America has become the whore of Babylon. The new Rome before the fall. The barbarians are at the gate, I'm SPARTACUS!!!

16. Well, George W. Bush is a scum-sucking pigfucker.
They can't take that away from us. And even if the kool-aid drinkers believe he is the second coming, we know he is a pigfucker and always will be a pigfucker.

When the rapture right is raptured away, it'll just be us and that goddamn pigfucker. So cheer up, that inbred, pseudo-texan prick is gonna have some explainin' to do.

20. Does anyone else have "Bushbotphobia?"
I find myself not wanting to leave the house for fear of encountering the "50 Million man Rethug Conservative Army" at the mall.
I keep thinking, "Well the movie sucks anyway - think I'll stay home & use the treadmill". Or "Honey lets just stay at home & play cards - I really dont want to endure the Haliphobes' collection of Reagan memorabelia AGAIN."
It's like an illness that wont be over for another 4 years. Pray that we may be able to again walk outside in the sunshine after the cure of a Democratic victory in 2008.

I just returned from 10 days away from any news and an occasional look at DU. Your comments reflect how I felt before I left, so not much has really changed. We all want so much for some irrefutable evidence to tell the truth to everyone in a big way. I am so convinced it's out there!

25. It's going to get MUCH worse before it gets remotely better.
Like Noam Chomsky said before these elections, if Bush gets re-elected the world could be blown up. He was dead serious. Pretty fucking scary. I am more active now than I have ever been. I donate money, I post flyers on telephone polls at UTC where I am majoring in Poly Sci, I talk to as many people about politics and talk about ISSUES not people, etc.

The only thing we can do to bring down the war machine is to organize and fight.

I urge EVERYBODY to protest on March 19th. I and two of my friends are driving to Fayetteville, NC to protest near Ft. Bragg.

Here's a link for that
http://www.codepinkalert.org/National_Actions_March_19_20.shtml

Thanks.

31. Learn about you & the battles you just fought. - take a break
Yes - it must be frustrating. But the truth is out there and even if you cannot kick the creep out of office you can take notes and get on here and laugh. Nobody writing serious stories of this day and age will be drinking the Kool-Aid and so there will be much more information available than there is today. And you will feel vindicated. And you will get some semblance of your country back.

Frustrating. But the rest of the world & the UN do not want to see Iraqis suffer anymore and so Iraq will be helped out by all sorts of countries until they have built up their own army. Nobody wants to see people die and the cost of that seems to be letting Bush look good. But people are the most important thing in Iraq - now. You are safe (for now) they are not.

You also are not in denial and ready to jump on any ship like many democrats (conspiracy theorists). They hit the 'denial' stage of grief and just will not let go to the hope that it has all been a mistake or an easily solved crime. With 'confidence men' it is never an easily solved crime. The ***hole won. Your country stinks. He is evil and so are his friends. The bad stuff may never surface in the form of a smoking gun but may just smolder away in their "hearts".

The good news is that peace may be breaking out in Israel/Palestine. Both sides seem unwilling to let themselves be derailed by terrorism. The mommies finally won that battle (they just had to wait for Arafat to die). Of course Bush will try and take credit for it, or will try and get Rice to take credit for it (but she had to change her plans and not fly to the area this week - ????).

As to the economy - don't go hugely into debt. And it is amazing the things you can live without when you have to (so don't fret too much about the economy). Save your money for a rainy day. Start taking small business courses (because that is where all the new jobs will be). Get a few back-up plans on the go. Do some research - what jobs last during a recession/depression? Be informed about that.

Most importantly - learn to belly laugh hard at the situation you are in. Laughing & crying will get it out and keep you grounded. Sane, happy, connected and real. The freepers are headed for a fall in that department - not you. They are the ones with the monsters in their hearts. You sound like a caring person who has their heart in the right place. And if getting online is too emotionally exhausting this week, take a break and connect, plant a garden and save your fight and your energy for the elections to come.

But I find getting online and talking and laughing and venting about it helps. Most importantly - reading a few of the best articles posted each day - before bed makes me feel empowered. Who knows - you may be a teacher/organizer come the next American election. Do what feels right to you - no sense in being lured into exhaustion by the nuts.

You may want to read up on the soul. Since you have one you would likely find it heartwarming (and sadly political in this climate). The Soul's Code by James Hillmann was great. Perhaps it is time to explore what makes some Americans empathetic - and what makes some seething with hate. But concentrate on you and less on them in your reading. And be happy with who & where you are.
