Journalist/student steals "Yellow Ribbon" magnets.
Agree or disagree with the situation in Iraq... support or not support the soldiers who are serving over there. Frustrated, angry or whatever, this kind of shit isn't right.

I can support his opinions, but not his actions.

Censorship sucks no matter which side it comes from.

"No yellow ribbons here

By Thomas Naughton, Collegian columnist

February 23, 2005

Guilt can only weigh on a person's mind for so long before they crave the act of purgation; to get the weighty feelings of shame and responsibility out of the mind - or at least the guilty parties attempt to find some kind of peace if they cannot rid themselves of a screaming conscience that implicates and indicts its possessor.

That said, perhaps some readers will understand why my friends and I rip yellow ribbon "support the troops" magnets off of cars or wherever people have affixed them. By ripping off these ribbons, we find a way to deal with our guilt, as though with each ribbon swiped we take back a life that was taken by this senseless war started by our senseless president and those who support him."

4. Dumb. Many Democrats have yellow ribbons on their wheels.
And obviously, many Democrats have family and friends who are serving in Iraq.

A couple of blocks from where I live (for the most part, a very liberal neighborhood), a particular house has an American flag on a pole, lighted at night, a "Support the Troops" sign in the window, AND a Gore-Lieberman yard sign and a Kerry-Edwards yard sign.

This kid may think that he's being anti-*, but by boosting yellow car-ribbons, he's actually judging book after book by their covers. This guy's actions are not only wrong-headed censorship-wise, they're stupid and childish. Theft of private property wins no converts.

5. I take 'em and replace 'em
with sharpie marked sayings like

- Fire Rumsfeld
-Draft republicans first
-pray for Iraqi women and children
-Bring Them Home

It's a lot of work but very therapuetic
