1. Republican
Christian Boy Scout leader. Member of the Christian Businessmens Group. That pretty much says it.

There is no feature on the Sedgewick co BOE site to look up his voter registration as many BOE sites have but his group activities indicate his party affliation, IMO.

9. I see stereotyping is alive and well here...
"Christian Boy Scout leader. Member of the Christian Businessmens Group."

I am a:

1) Christian
2) Boy Scout Leader
3) Member of a Businessmens' group (that is predominantly Christian)

I am also:

1) A lifelong Democrat and liberal
2) Not a serial killer

35. Conservatives MURDER people
They MURDER civil rights leaders
They MURDER abortion providers
They MURDER homosexuals; they MURDER Arabs; they MURDER ANYONE who they and they alone decide should not live free. Conservatives condone and endorse MURDER to achieve political goals.

The inability of us liberals to accept the fact that conservativism is based on thuggery, gangsterism, murder and terror - and to fight back against such methods - is the very reason why they are in a position to instill their theocratic dictatorship rule. The women murdered here were all independent, freethinking females which conservatives HATE. To BTK, they represented excesses of liberalism which he felt deserved to be expunged. You can't argue against such hatred; you cannot reason with a mind set to KILL anything outside the doxology of such rigid idealism. The sooner we liberals get the brass balls needed to take care of these abominations the sooner we can all sleep without fear.

We are really not like that here in KC. :)

Seriously, we have serial killers here too but the national media doesn't seem too interested in them.

6. Would it matter?
The man was a monster. He managed to conquer his demons for 25 years.

If he's a pubbie, they'll claim that Jesus cured him of the compulsion to torture and murder people and Jesus convinced him to lead the cops to his capture.

If he's a Dem, they'll just say all Dems are evil and immoral and he's only the first one they've caught, the rest of us are next.

10. How do you know he conquered his demons?
Just because no murders have been linked to him doesn't mean they didn't occur. Serial killers often have many more victims than they eventually are linked to or admit to. . . of course many have fewer victims than they say they do as well.

18. Actually, it'll matter a great deal
If he was a registered Democrat we will be subjected to endless hours of talking heads talking about it and linking Democrats to serial killings.

If he was a Republican, we'll never hear a word about it.

Democrats have to hope that serial killers are Republicans so we won't be subjected to hours of linking democrats and serial killers.

But more importantly, I want to let the Christians here know that
I sympathize with the black eye this gives them. And I want to let them know that this Wiccan does not hold you to account for his evil.

Today at church, I hope you were able to join in fellowship without wondering if you were passing the plate to a monster.

Hwas thu Hal, and be strong in your faith, your founder would have thrown this guy out the door at mach 2.

14. Well, it'll be pretty easy to determine which one
If he was a Democrat it'll be all over the news and a subject for debate on every talking head show around.

If he was a Republican we'll never hear about his political affiliation.

Neither political party is in support of serial killing. That's like asking if the serial killer is American or Russian. It is totally irelevant to what he has done. :puke:

25. His political affiliation matters HUGELY
If he's a Democrat there will be an unending bombardment from the Corporate media wbout him being a Democrat an how that points to the immoral stances of the Democratic Party ad nauseum.

For my part, I sincerely hope he was a Republican. We'll never hear about it but at least we won't have weeks upon endless weeks about how Democrats are serial killers.

22. Message from his church
special news release from Christ Lutheran Church, Wichita, KS 2/26/2005

My name is Michael Clark. I am the pastor here at Christ Lutheran Church. I want to say that on my behalf and the behalf of the leaders of this congregation we will cooperate completely in the ongoing investigation of the matter regarding Dennis Rader. We first became aware of this investigation on Friday, February 25, 2005.

Dennis is a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He has held leadership positions here at Christ Lutheran over the course of approximately 30 years as a member.

We are all concerned for Dennis Rader and his family. We lift up our prayers in support of all of them. The members of Christ Lutheran Church are in a state of shock and bewilderment about the turn of events that have unfolded this week.

Dennis Rader Was Arrested Apparently Based On DNA Evidence

POSTED: 6:50 am PST February 27, 2005
UPDATED: 7:01 am PST February 27, 2005

PARK CITY, Kan. -- Neighbors are painting a mixed picture of the man police believe is the BTK serial killer.

Some say Dennis Rader helped the elderly with yard work. But others say he was an unpleasant man who looked for reasons to cite them for city code violations.

AP Photo
Dennis Rader is suspected of being the BTK serial killer.

Timeline: BTK Case
Video: Police: 'BTK Is Arrested'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rader was an ordinance enforcement officer for the local government in Park City, Kan.

One man says his wife caught Rader filming the back of their house. Others say they saw him measuring the grass in front yards to see if it was too long.

Rader also led a Cub Scout troop and was active in his Lutheran church. snip http://www.ktvu.com/news/4236386/detail.html
