Is Jeb revising history with help of AP??.......pension fund 2 articles!
Nambe posted an article in LBN today. The figures made me take notice. They are not at all like the ones that came out in March of this year. There are many others on a google search, most similar to the CNN article.

How does the AP get its figures in the article below???

From the CNN article from March 12, 2003
http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/03/12/bush.pension/

From the article posted by Nambe at the Sun-Sentinel today.

Could someone help me figure where the AP got the figures today that are so
different?

Are they all just practicing revisionist history?? There is a huge difference in 517 million to the federal govt and 267 million. They fail in the 2nd article to even mention that the total owed is more like 3 billion. Am I missing in the article? Are they saying the same thing, or just changing figures?

I also notice that the two ladies involved, Rehnquist and Shannahan, have both resigned now. Jeb is never blamed for this, just the ladies. Unbelievable.

1. Jeb blamed? Even lots of democrats
believe the governor of a state has nothing to do with elections. The spin has set in, and there's lots of work for us to do.

2. But how did they get these numbers to be so different?
I am going to send them both to my legislators here, but I am having trouble with the figures.

Are they speaking of two different figures or revising the originals to sound better?

3. I hate Howard Dean.
Ok, so I don't hate anyone. I just hoped that someone would see if they could help me see about the figures that differ so drastically. It keeps dropping so quickly.

I don't want to embarrass myself when I write my legislators with the comparison of the two.

I could be misreading. I just want be careful. This is my pension fund, and I will fight this all the way.....I just need to know if they just changed the figures or if I misunderstood?

4. I hate Coward Bush.
"owes the federal government about $500 million"

vs

"owes the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services $267 million"

Perhaps the other app. $233 mil is owed to other parts of the "federal government"?

5. Thanks. I thought of that. What about the 3 billion, though?
..."The draft, a copy of which was obtained by CNN, says the state required contributors to put too much into the retirement fund and calls for the money to either be paid back or future contributions reduced. The audit was conducted by the Inspector General's Office for the Department of Health and Human Service....."

..."The "excessive" contributions totaled about $3 billion, and the federal share of that was about $517 million....."

Would the contributors be just federal government, or the counties who put the in the money for the employees? I hate to sound so dumb.

Appreciate the response.

:-)
