WH Correspondents' Association defends Gannon's daily credentialing
http://www.drudgereport.com/flash.htm

White House Correspondents' Association weighs in on Gannon-gate, saying "individual episodes" should not prompt crackdown on credentialing.Ê In a resolution adopted at a meeting in Washington this morning, the association said it "stands for inclusiveness in the credentialing process so that the White House remains accessible to all journalists.Ê We hope that individual episodes do not obscure the broader principles of a fair and evenhanded credentialing process."

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise

1. I had to go vomit or I would have posted first.
Whaddaya say we ALL apply for day passes? I can make up a phony news outlet as well as anyone. MSM is going down the tubes and this is why. Access to the White House is gold, truth is crap. Disgusting.

9. Stephen Colbert: A Fake Newsman's Fake Newsman: Stephen Colbert

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4464017

Fresh Air from WHYY, January 24, 2005 · Comic and journalist Stephen Colbert is the fake senior correspondent on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. We talk with Colbert about his reports, from "Rathergate" to "This Week in God."

Colbert started his comic career with Second City in Chicago. He helped create the HBO sketch comedy series Exit 57 which won five Cable ACE awards in 1995. He also wrote and performed sketches on The Dana Carvey Show. On Comedy Central, Colbert was also a main part of the three-season series Strangers with Candy, featuring Amy Sedaris. A film version of that show is now at the Sundance Film Festival.

In addition, Colbert is the voice of Ace for Saturday Night Live's animated short features, "Ace and Gary: The Ambiguously Gay Duo".

12. A great big "no shit"
to that article. They would have been nailing Clinton's ass to the wall for this - getting out the Articles of Impeachment.

11. About that happening in the Clinton Era....
This is a must read from Knight-Ridder on the Jim/Jeff flap...

~snip~
Martha Kumar, a political scientist at Towson University in Maryland, who monitors the White House press, says: "Jeff was the kind of person who saw the briefings as an opportunity to air his point of view. Looking back (at the Clinton era), I can't think of any analogous person on the Democratic side. There were no Democratic-trained partisans like Jeff. If there had been anyone like that, you would have heard an uproar on Capitol Hill," from the Republican majority.

5. So now we know -- they are all nothing but a bunch of whores!
Who knew when we started calling 50-99% of the media whores that in fact they are whores.
