US blasts middle east countries of this?!
Human rights violations.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/02/28/world/main676946.shtml

(at the time of my reaing) The article spake of the US criticizing the ME countries for bad human rights conditions and violations. And it made no metion of Abu Gharib, though it did glibly say that the problems now are nowhere near as baad as they were under the rule of Hussein. (uh, as long as one person is abused, NOBODY is free.)

2. That still might be the truth. Even if they lied about getting into war.
When I generalize, I'm told it is wrong.

Therefore, until you or anyone who think it's more than a few can incontrovertibly prove it's more than a few 'bad apples', I refuse to decide either way.

3. There's more than Abu Guraib. People are being tortured in Guantanamo to
this day and in numerous other contries. Bad apples, indeed. It's official US policy. Your secretary of Justice calls the Geneva conventions "quaint", for crying out loud!

And are you trying to tell us that all the poor people who were arrested after 9/11 only because they had an "Arab" name - some 3 000 it was said - are totally accounted for meanwhile, are getting reparatios etc?

6. !
Oh my.

Well, it's definitely happened but - as with the Gitmo things I didn't quite see it.

But how do we know that *, Rummy, and the gang gave the orders to do the torture? I can see why some troops or COs would put personal emotion over their duty (which is disgusting), but from the very top?
