http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=538310The long-term drop in job satisfaction has been driven by rapid changes in technology, employers' push for productivity and shifting expectations among workers, said Lynn Franco, director of the group's Consumer Research Center.
"As large numbers of baby boomers prepare to leave the work force, they will be increasingly replaced by younger workers, who tend to be as dissatisfied with their jobs, but have different attitudes and expectations about the role of work in their lives," Franco said. "This transition will present a new challenge for employers." Push for productivity. We're not fuckin' robots, we're people. We can only go so far before we need medical help - you know, that crap that only the rich can afford in the country that, last to my knowledge, was #37 on the list of countries with best health care.
This is a good report. It reminds us that we, the working class, are still needed. And are rightfully getting annoyed. We just want what's fair. And, unlike those who make 600x as much as any one of us in general, we don't want even 3x as much. (I'm happy with what I make, and it's nowhere near "upper class" either.)
A happy country depends on happy citizens being productive and making good money so they can live a decent life. That ain't happening to many in AMerica. This report PROVES it. Damningly.
