We continuously talk about Iraq having nothing to do with 9-11 and
the lack of evidence. I think most here anyway agree with that. My question is what REAL evidence do we have that Osama is responsible?

1. If the Empire has is they haven't shown it
Not a lick. Not a whit.

Who can tell here in Imperial Amerika with it's Soviet-like Corporate TV Pravda?

2. Thank you sir, that is how I remember
things as well. A passport flying magically from a demolished building is not exactly evidence.

14. Well except for his...
...enthusiastically taking responsibility. There are enough mistakes, evils and blunders associated with Bush's war on terrorism- there is no use in arguing against the obvious.

3. None.
No facts have really been revealed. Exactly how & when was the plot laid? Who planned? Who helped? Who knew?

He's on spurious record as having rejoiced after the fact. But there is NO evidence that he was THE mastermind who thought it all up & set it in motion--from a cave in Afghanistan, no less. Perhaps he sent the planners some financial support?

It's in the interest of those in charge to have a swarthy, all-powerful villain against us. Leave the details blurry. Saddam is swarthy & he's a villain--let's conflate the two so we can point to the Towers in flame & say "That's why we're in Iraq!"

Looking too closely at how this great crime came to be committed might cause discomfort to the "wrong" people--in countries other than Afghanistan & Iraq--including the USA.

4. We have no evidence...
I believe, that Osama was chosen as the "poster boy" for 9/11, because he was a CIA operative, who worked with Bush Sr's CIA. He had also conducted some other operations, like the U.S.S. Cole bombing. Furthermore, he was also working with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia's versions of the CIA. Together, ALL of these people were somehow involved in 9/11, perhaps at the direction of PNAC and BFEE operatives. I don't pretend to know how all of this works, but, based on the evidence I've seen, all of these people are tied together, and were involved in 9/11. More importantly, because we cannot believe ANYTHING the Bush regime says, why SHOULD we believe Osama was directly involved in 9/11? Personally, I think Bush, the BFEE, and PNAC, are all more guilty with respect to 9/11 than Osama. Someone prove me wrong.

5. A fat Osama said he was surprised that the towers fell down
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 02:15 PM by NNN0LHI
I was surprised as well. Guess that is evidence that I did it?

6. There is actually quite a bit of evidence
As described in "The War on Freedom".

The intelligence services knew something big was going down, but for reasons "unknown" did not act.

How else do you think the intelligence services came up with all the names and faces of the hijackers so quickly?

All-in-all it points to LIHOP

I feel certain he is glad to take responsibility for it.

8. you mean besides the videotape of him taking credit and all ?
Other than that its just that the hi-jackers were traced back to being AlQueda people and the fact that he set up "the Base".

I'll settle for the tape though. Horse's mouth is always pretty compelling.

15. I read the whole article
And no where in it do I see where the fat OBL says "he did it" as you claimed? Here. Look at these photos and tell me if they all look like the same person to you. Or does one guy look a little heavier and fat faced than the others?

12. There have been several translations of that tape
And even if the 'fat Osama' was actually Osama on a 'bad water retention day', the non-US gov't translations of what was said are far less conclusive. Even in the US gov't translation, he didn't claim credit as much as foreknowledge (about a week's worth...which might mean that he found out long after the Bush admin did).

None of that changes the fact that we were promised a full stating of the evidence 'in the future', and that was two years ago now. Since we re-devastated an already devastated country on the basis of this 'evidence', I think we are owed a presentation of it.

10. Gee, ya think we oughta investigate this?
You know, look at the facts, develop evidence, try to find out what happened and everything, who was responsible, and how it might be prevented in the future?

Naaaaahhh!

11. Have you read the 9/11 report?
You just have to make it through the "cover-up" sections of this mis-administration's fuckups.

Interesting tidbit from the report, they figured the attacks cost $175,000 to $250,000.
