Kooks on the subway
I finally got into a debate (if you could call it that) with some guy that's been annoying me on BART (S.F.s subway). I couldn't even begin to engage this guy, since he was just spouting uninformed opinions from what seemed to be a RW viewpoint, but when I tried to hit him with specific examples, he didn't seem to know what I was talking about. He started going off about taxes, and said that he was glad to have gotten his rebate, since after all, "that's MY money". All of it, I asked. Yes he replied. I asked him if he drove a car. Yes. On your own private road? Ummmm, well, I agree we should pay SOME taxes. It went on like this for a while, and finally, as we reached our mutual destination, he said "Remember, God puts the President into the White House." I thought he was joking, but he looked me right in the eye, and repeated it.

KOO KOO! KOO KOO!

2. Did you smack him and say "God put my fist in your nose"?
You shouldn't have, because violence is never the answer.

8. Excellent response!
I'll have to remember that one. It will be interesting to hear the reply to that one. Perhaps it was the devil who put Clinton in office to test the faith of God's Own Party.

10. Do people often tell you that God put Bush in the white house.
I guess no one would dare say something like that to me.

9. Why did God remove poppy after only one term?
Did God realize it was a mistake to put him there in the first place?

13. The new Gospel
God appointed Bush I, but was disappointed because Bush I was not doing the work of God. This angered The Lord, and he chose to put someone of great skill and knowledge in the White House to lead the country out of recession and into a time of plenty. God saw his man Clinton, and God saw that he was good. The Lord said, "Let there be another term," and it was so.
At the dawn of the second millenium, however, God had become angry with His creation. The Republicans were attacking the very man that He had chosen, and were doing so to aid the causes of evil. The Lord decided that He should punish the country and punish the Republicans, for they had gone astray.
The Lord then said, "Let the next president be from the Republican party. He shall be not of a pure heart, but one of oil. He shall be not a man of intelligence, but a man of alcoholism and cocaine addictions. He will lead the country into four years of darkness, after which the GOP will be completely discredited for years to come."
The Lord then reminded the truly faithful to fear not. He promised that He would help them through this time of darkness, and He told them to have faith that soon the evil one in the White House would be gone. The White House would soon be occupied by a man of His divine choosing, and he would again lead the nation to prosperity.

12. TAX REBATE!!! NOOOooooooooo...
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 03:22 PM by StClone
It's a loan that is repaid at tax time. So misinformed!

It's like in Wisconsin the dimwits are supporting the concealled weapon law. If enacted would make guns basically uncontrollable. Businesses, churches, malls and public places will not be able in any way to bar them! Idiots.
