1. Poseur
That one word sums up Dennis Miller to a tee. It is bad enough that he decided his bread would be better doing the right wing hate radio circuit, but he can't even come up with new material. He has been doing the Clinton "Marriage of Convenience" "joke" for about 6 months I think. He must not be able to produce any new material.

Hey Denny, I haven't seen a bigger block since Imhotep capped the step pyramid for Hatshepsut, before she invited him in for a nightcap.
Know what I am saying, ya pretentious twit?

8. So...
there's something wrong with being a "nerd" (ie someone with BRAINS who actually puts them to useful purpose)? If not for a whole variety of nerds ranging from Newton and Copernicus to Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein, humanity wouldn't have progressed very far. There are more important things to life than attractiveness and popularity, and you're a sad specimen of humanity if your criteria for judging someone are so incredibly shallow.

(and, yeah, I'm a nerd, and PROUD of it.)

13. Well, let's see.
Hmmm. You must not have read those biographies very closely, then. Einstein generally wore the same clothes most of the time (baggy pants and sweatshirts), wasn't exactly the neatest or most well-groomed individual (surely you've seen pictures. Look at his hair and tell me that's "well-groomed"). And Edison would totally ignore sleep, bathing, food, etc. for days on end when obsessed with something he was working on.

I bathe, don't dress like something out of "Revenge of the Nerds" (wearing khakis, a black t-shirt and Converse All-Stars at the moment); my social skills are NOT so great, perhaps, but I happen to be autistic (have Asperger's Syndrome, if you've heard of it) and lack of instinctive social skills goes with the diagnosis.

And, I'm sorry, but there's more to life than being social. I reiterate, if it weren't for people who are more interested in things like math and science than in other people, we probably wouldn't know anywhere near as much as we do now. (again, see Einstein, Newton, etc.)

Some of the nicest people I know are nerds. This may surprise you but Al Franken did not become famous for his looks (not that he looks bad) he became famous for his wit and intelligence. Brainiacs are more interesting to be around anyway.

17. hes boring because his entire monologue is racking down liberals
Edited on Sat Sep-13-03 04:15 AM by Kamika
A comedian needs to challenge whats "normal" i mean the current attitudes.. do something fun. When a comedian praises the one in charge and actually talks bad about ppl challenging authority you know hes gone sour.

Dennis would be just as boring if he would only talk bad about republicans.

I really hope when we get a democratic president in place the liberal comedians will still make fun of the president as always.
