I found something out that is rather important on google:

Absentee voting aided Bush win

By Alisa LaPolt
FLORIDA TODAY

TALLAHASSEE -- Gov. Jeb Bush's win last week actually began two weeks before the election, at early voting stations and from absentee ballots in the mail.

------snip-----------------------

During the same time period, some 650,000 absentee ballots had been returned in Florida. GOP spokesman Towson Fraser said 380,000 of them were from Republicans.

-----snip------------------------

This is very telling, isn't it?

1. They really did push the absentee ballots hard.
I am quite sure it mostly benefitted the GOP because our Democrats here are still picking themselves off the floor.

3. The level of organization in the Florida Republican party is amazing.
And I suspect that it has something to do with the good ole boy network that exists here, where one can't find the line where government stops and business starts. They are better organized and connected to their base, through churches and Rotary Club type organizations. They not only spend time on absentee ballots, but they also have caller trees on election day.

That's the legal side. On the other side, there are lots I would love to see investigated. For example, I'd love to rotate the retirees that volunteer at the polls. I see the same ones ever time I go and I've not had good experience with them. I'd have Democrats not just poll watching in Republican districts, I'd have them paying countless visits to the Supervisor of Elections just to see who's in the back room. And I'd have them checking the signatures on those absentee ballots.

And a pony...I want a pony for Christmas. (Well, it was worth a shot.)

2. In 2004 - the military will NOT vote Bush...
And we'll see that all of a sudden these military ballots will start myseriously disappearing.

5. I expect something to happen to them also.
I remember the reports of servicemen who admitted that they sent in ballots after the deadline because the election supervisors were going to count them anyways (thanks Lieberman) and I wonder what they must think realizing that they got the Commander In Chief they deserved for their evil deed.
