6. The accuracy is not the point
I think we all realize that these internet polls are not accurate.

However, the talking news on TV will tout the results if they are favorable to Bush. Every time we get one to go our way, we take a weapon out of their hands.

9. Polls depend on demographics...
if Newsweek chose generally safe GOP districts, the #'s would be reversed, just as they are. Same thing for the dems.

This is one of the reasons that I have little faith in polls. It is way to easy to choose where and whom they wish to contact.

In fact, I am willing to bet that less than 5% of anyone oat DU was ever polled abouot anything. Just who these people are that have been polled, is always a mystery. I've only known 1 person that ever got a call about a political poll.

The good thing is, someone in the admin is monitoring this particular poll, and knowing that bush only goes before 'friendly' crowds, realizes that those to take the effort to log in and make a vote, are the ones that will most likely vote in the '04 election.

Less conservatives are likely to run into this poll while perusing the MSNBC site because a lot of them don't trust the "liberal media" and wouldn't go on the MSNBC site to begin with.

On edit: That having been said, 52% is still low.

5. Wow. Things are looking.....
Down. You know you're dead meat when an Accounts Payable clerk sends you a forwarded email about what an ass Bush is. I was so surprised. I got a very hostile, critical email which had apparently been spread over a large subscriber list. It was something about Bush and his handling of the Iraq crisis.

Incidentally, this is the same little gal who was wearing an American Flag shirt a mere few months ago. While she proudly proclaimed her patriotism, the rest of us who weren't quite so sure, quietly went back to work while these peacocks strutted their stuff.

So, dear DU:ers. It appears that there are some cracks in the monolith. They are not as impervious as they would have us believe.

All our work seems to be paying off.

Still to early to tell, though.
