Get ready for a new argument why the economy isn't better
George Bush during the 2004 election, "Well, if Hurricane Isabel hadn't hit the economy would be doing much better. Who would have guessed a mammoth hurricane with 125 mile per hour winds would hit 3 major cities in one day?

For example, after the Kobe earthquake in 1995, Japanese GDP growth got a temporary boost from all the reconstruction spending.
