40% of Americans have family member or close friends lose their jobs..
http://dailynews.att.net/cgi-bin/news?e=pri&dt=030915&cat=frontpage&st=frontpagepoll030914_bush&src=abc

<snip>
More than four in 10 have lost a job, or had a close friend or family member lose one, in the last year. And nearly half are worried about layoffs in their household in the next year, including a quarter who are "very worried."

Overall, 70 percent say the economy is in bad shape, up dramatically from 29 percent when Bush took office; and while 28 percent think it's improving, 31 percent say it's getting worse. While expectations were more negative earlier this year, Bush's approval rating for handling the economy is its lowest since he took office — 42 percent approve, 56 percent disapprove.

1. Collective LOLOism has become Ebolaesque, an airborne pathogen.
Our wonderful election process has been comp'd by poor voting resulting in a poor leader.

Poor leadership will get us Americans misery thru poor decisions.

Tax cuts at the wrong time...etc etc etc. led to a 1/2 $trillion deficiet, largest in USA History/

They reject the right answers/solutions to favor their selfinterests, their path, their philosophy.

They see the right answers but refuse to go there.

They are obstinate/stubborn/and fucking brain damaged.

The Repubs and their fucking flag shit jingoism(Hey, its Americas flag, not the Pubs) is making America go to the poor house where they want us. Its Intended.

Come, we shop for brain food

2. This is why the economy should be the #1 priority for the Dems in '04
Bush's failed invasion and occupation of Iraq will speak for itself. Jobs and the economy is the number one issue right now.

3. I see no reason
why the Dems don't resurrect the "it's the economy stupid" theme. Count me as one of the Americans who are looking for full time work doing something more than flipping burgers. Not that there is anything wrong with that :). I've done it before and can do it again if I have to, but when you hit your fifties and look at the current economic climate............it's really fucking scary!

5. I agree, economy should be Dem's main theme
There are just too many people being hurt by Repug greed. One natural reaction is to look for why so many people are losing jobs, and why no new jobs are being created.

People who are hurting hear about the rich getting huge tax cuts, about billions being poured into rebuilding a country we destroyed, and anger is the natural outcome. Since Dems are not in control of the White House, or Congress, the blame is going to fall on the ones in charge.

I don't know how other families cope with these things, but in my own family, when someone loses a job, the rest of us help out til they (hopefully) find one. We might lose a home, but we know that none of us will end up homeless. Many people do not have strong families willing to help, so they are just tossed into a horrible situation that is truly beginning to weaken our country.

Vote Dem...get Whistle Ass and his gang out.

6. I can think of 10 people I know
off the top of my head, my brother being one of those, who've been laid off, fired, or retired early within the past 2 years.

They all have one thing in common--yes, it was the economy.
