I used to live right by the intersection of Garrett Road and Lansdowne Avenue. Drexel Hill was just one stop down on the old trolley car!

7. I lived in Way-Lin Manor apartments my first year out of college

I attended Drexel and Lansdowne was just a short hop away. I didn't grow up there, though -- I'm originally from the other side of PA, the one often referred to as "Pennsyltucky" ;-)

That reminds me of the old joke that Pennsylvania has Pittsburgh on one side, Philadelphia on the other and Alabama in between the two.

I'm originally from Philly but my husband is an Upper Darbyite so I transplanted myself to the burbs.

"We are (last-minute) organizing a protest outside of a Bush Fundraiser This MONDAY (9/15) 5pm Sierra Club, Public Citizen, Clean Air Council will have a 12-foot inflatable White House (see www.whitehouseforsale.org) and we will have other costumes, signs, speakers to attract media attention at the entrance to this fundraiser (we’ve just gotten the permits and okay from local police)… but we really need more support to hold a press event! The event is at Drexelbrooks in Drexel Hill. Directions are below, we will begin our event at 5pm and we’ll be there until about 6:30. DIRECTIONS From their website (http://www.drexelbrookcatering.com/directions.htm) To Drexelbrooks, Drexel Hill, PA where we’ll be in an obvious location outside the facility. We will have the 12-foot White House inflatable, so we shouldn’t be hard to miss! Diana’s cell phone is 310-678-6869 in case, and we’ll plan to start at 5pm- so if you can get there a little before 5pm that would be great." ....
