Will Iowa Republicans Spoil the Democratic Caucus?
According to MSNBC:

Pollsters faces the challenge of trying to identify the universe of activists likely to participate in the caucuses. Registered Democrats in Iowa total 526,426, but only about 100,000 are expected to attend the caucuses.
In addition, there are 684,090 voters who are registered without declaring a party allegiance, and 580,677 registered Republicans. Independents and Republicans are eligible to attend precinct caucuses by simply signing a card declaring themselves Democrats for a night. However, there is not a strong tradition of crossing party lines to influence the outcome of precinct caucuses.

Now, there may be no 'tradition' of 'pukes crossing party lines, but, to borrow the GOP's favorite phrase, "9/11 changed everything." I'm wondering if Rove has plans to 'preselect Dubya's challenger.' Now, that could backfire, too. What if he picks Dean, thinking he'll be another McGovern? Anyway, am I being too cynical?

1. Nothing is too cynical to put past the Watergaters
Karl Rove was one of Nixons Dirty Trocksters. I maintain that Wategate activities encompass only a fraction of what the Busheviks are up to vis-a-vis election fraud and RICO-violating electoral dirty tricks conspiracies.

Of course they will.

3. When they Want to Watergate Now...
...they just get the Department of Homeland Security to do it for them, nice and legal,
and since it's all secret, there's no oversight by anyone.

2. Dean as McGovern
Before you buy into this rhetoric, think of where it is coming from: Leiberman and the GOP. I chose Dean as the Democrat I would support several months ago for two reasons: I agreed with his positions, and I think he is the most electable of the group. As a Governor with fresh ideas, he reminds me of Carter and Clinton at the same points in those campaigns.

4. Jeez, and I thought Kucinich supporters were 'touchy!'
Actually, if you read my post, I said labeling Dean as another McGovern would backfire. Sorry If I wasn't clear.

By the way, just for the record, I'm a Dean supporter (who also likes Kerry and Clark). Not only do I not buy the 'liberal' tag, I also, in fact, feel Dean is too conservative on some issues (namely, death penalty and guns).

5. they have certainly seen how effective it can be in Georgia
they eliminated Cindy McKinney that way and it didn't cost a dime.

If Braun, Sharpton, Kucinich, Graham or Lieberman win you'll know that the fix is in. Or you could just look for a heavy turnout.
