Am I reading this recall decision too cynically?
Just seems like Arnold and Mclintock were both behind in the poll and the recall itself was losing support. So now it seems like all of a sudden the courts decided to postpone it? Seems like now they have more time to convince McLintock to get out of the race and to sell the recall itself some more.

Just a tinfoil hat suspicion though. I don't know enough about the situation.

1. March favors Dems regardless with the Dem primaries and the
fact that we maintain a decent voter registration edge.

2. Yeah it does seem like it can go either way now.
Granted, Dems will be out in force in March, but doesn't this keep Davis in the hot seat for six more months?

4. The judges who ruled were appointed by Carter and Clinton
so they certainly aren't right wing.

6. I know that, but
my concern is six months of GOP shenanigans.

7. If by hot seat you mean Governor ~ Yes it does and happy for it
Davis apparently wants to be in that "hot seat" as you call it because he ran twice for it and is in the process of having to run a third time. The recall process needs to be looked at and some important changes made. Recalls shoulkd be for corruption or illegal activity not because you don't like him. Elections are for that.

10. By hot seat I mean that a duly elected Governor will be distracted
for another six months by this bullshit. I'm not in California but it seems like this guy is getting screwed. How can anyone do their job if they have to spend their entire time in office fighting to KEEP their job?

3. Yes, that cynicism is unwarrented.
These judges definitely did not rule on this basis at all. There are strategic advantages and weaknesses in either event. We must be prepared to win in either case.

8. exactly, the whole point of the delay is to hook us up
now would be a good time to start writing our reps, especially if you live in one of the relevant counties, and DEMAND a voter-verified paper trail!!!!

BBV is the one issue that worries me the most about this recall

11. Yes, this would give BevHarris more time to
get the message out about the touch screen voting machines inviting fraud and ballot tampering. I would like to see double entry voting accountability by March of next year.
