We face NOTHING YET: The White Rose Society

Everybody bitches about what has been done to our beautiful nation by the Busheviks. But I just wanted to point out that currently, on a personal level, we face NOTHING compared to those who from the very first defied the Business Partners of Grandpa Prescott Bush.

The funny thing is that these leaflets sound so much like things written on DU and the fledgeling Left-Wing Web, it's heartbreaking.

But we have been given a gift, perhaps the Final Gift, by the Founding Fathers, who created the Old Republic with so many checks and balances that it is proving a bear for the Busheviks to nullify it all while keeping the kernel so that the Imperial Subjects of Amerika will continue to believe they govern themselves.

And in this Twilight, this great gift bequeathed to us by the Founding Fathers, we enjoy the last years living life much as it was during the Last Days of the Old Republic. One day, unless these terrible trends abate (and I'm not sure that's even possible given the weakened state of the Constitution and Bill of Rights), this twilight will end and we will all know more closely what the White Rose Society faced.

But I enclose this link to remember these brave souls, and to in a way "remember" those who will come after us, when the Bushevik Regime has come much close to the Prize They Seek.

Read the White Rose. Remember it. For we are they and they are us.

Except for them, it is already 2027 (ok, ok, maybe I am being too much of an optimist here). We face NOTHING yet liek the White Rose...that sad lot is probably reserved for our grandchildren.

While I don't see the founders in quite the same light that you do, except perhaps Thomas Paine, the "Iron Heel" is very close to becoming not just a book by Jack London anymore.

I see their complete break from pretending to play fair, and respecting the Bill of Rights, coming sometime in 2004. Perhaps in the summer.

Hopefully not but I'm losing my optimism.

6. I've long admired

Hans and Sophie Schell, but never actually read their leaflets. Thank you so much for posting this.

For those that don't know their story, Hans and Sohie, brother and sister, were two University students who actively and pretty openly opposed Hitler. Arrested and tortured by the gestapo, they were condemned to death by an infamous Nazi Judge (who later died in his court in the bombing. Eyewitness accounts attest to the courage and dignity with which they met their deaths.

Long live the white rose.

They were the ones who kept their sanity in a time when the world went mad! Their sacrifice, honour, and dignity will not be forgotten! To the White Rose! Huzzah!

I can't help imagining myself in their shoes.
Would I be that brave?
I try to imagine being strapped into the guillotine.
Would I have the strength to shout, "Long live freedom!" as the blade came down?

Which is why remembering the White Rose is so important.

People have said it may come as early as the summer of 2004 (my earliest guess would be summer 2005 myself), or as late as 2027 (yes yes I know... optimistic).

But it seems like on this track, that it WON'T happen (in some form, probably somewhat unlike the methods used by Grandpa Prescott's business partners) is unfortunately the least likely option.
