1. The Bible is a collection of myths from

many cultures and that's why you have contradictions such as the two genesis stories.

I could never understand why people take it literally since even Christ taught by parable, not literal stories.

At any rate, my family has gone fundamentalist on me and its tearing me apart to see my parents, who I looked up to for so many many years, now look like foolish little children spooked by the bogeyman.

Read all the "holy" books you can get your hands on before you settle on what the Bible is.

To give you a cryptic shortcut however, study the heavens. (Astronomy) The answers to the riddle lies in the stars. All the stories in the holy books are taken from thousands of years of watching the stars.
