1. I think they have some issues they can agree on
That said, in the long run, the RW fundementalists don't care much for Catholics either.

3. Guess I am not asking the question correctly
What is the stronghold of the RW Evangelical in countries outside of the US?

2. What does that mean?
http://www.wordreference.com/definition/stronghold

"A fortified structure".

Perhaps "strong hold"? "stranglehold"?

6. Stronghold of the Evangelicals
means their growth, their voice and the increase of followers. Are they as pushy in others countries compared to the US? Are they overpowering other religions?

4. No, but Catholics have made an unholy alliance ...
... Catholics and the right wing fundies agree on abortion/life and all things sexual. They philosophically disagree on everything else (social justice, war...).

I don't think either group has a strong hold on the other. This is an alliance Catholics will regret!!!!!

9. In my experience...
traveling overseas and talking to the people there, and from having foreign excahnge students as roommates in college, Eurpoeans tend not to vote with their church. Abortion isn't the issue that it is over here. Check out the State/Country boards- the UK discussion group. They have a thread about how abortion in particular is not a political win/lose issue that people vote on.

It seems the rest of the world has learn the lesson that Europe learned from the Catholic church when they usd their political clout to do little things like... say... the Inquisition.
