Do You Trust the "American People" to do the Right Thing?
Do you actually really trust them to throw out the cabal? Do they have the intestinal fortitude to do it or do they remain too frightened to make the changes necessary to retain our failing democracy?

Remember - the "American People" put the cabal into power by shrugging their shoulders and acquiescing to the 2000 coup. The "American People" keep the cabal in power by not demanding their accountability. The "American People" keep the cabal in power by caring only about their SUVs, pickups, NASCAR, sports, beer, etc.

If you do trust them to do what's right - then please answer me this:

What will your opinion of them be if the cabal is returned to power in 2004? What will happen then?

1. Four more years of Bush would be a disaster
When the "American People" lose all thier SUVs, pickups, and beer.
There will most likely be an uprising.

It would be an economic disaster.

3. I trust them to do what they think is best for them
as they always do. And the side that makes the better case to that question will win. What was interesting about 2000 was that, for the first time I can recall, there was no clear cut winner to that case ergo the closeness of the race.

Perhaps there is something to be learned from that.

4. A better question is, do we trust the Supreme Court
and the GOP to keep their noses clean if the next election doesn't go their way.

6. I trust them, but only if they're informed and now they're NOT
It's the media who's dropped the ball here.

Most people, and I used to be one of these, figure that if there's something rotten in Denmark, the press will sniff it out.

That's not happening anymore, but people don't realize that. They watch the news, check out the headlines on a few papers now and then, gossip amongst themselves, and if that's all you do, hell, you're not gonna be that pissed off. Dissillusioned maybe, anxious, but not ready to storm the white house like we are.

I'm really thinking we should get a class action lawsuit against the media. Charging them with fraud.

12. The media hasn't "dropped the ball", they've been....
co-conspirators right from the get-go. They are as complicit as the cabal in the events of the 2000 election, and every rotten thing the cabal has done since. If reform needs to happen in any part of our democracy, it's with the media.

The first act of the new Dem prez, should be to sign an executive order reinstituting the "fairness Doctrine". His second act, should be to fire and imprison Asscroft, and have the new AG go after the cabal, and many in the media, on charges of sedition and treason. I'm thinking Nuremberg type trials will be needed. In any case, in order to make sure these people never rise to power again, we cannot let them get off scot free. They must pay a price for their crimes against the American people, and the world.

15. Flying_Pig, co-conspirators the media are, but sadly IMHO,so are
the Supreme Court, both the Democrats and Republicans in Congress, and the general public at large for supporting/not questioning in far too large numbers what has transpired.

8. I don't know-they elected Nixon and Reagan twice
Who knows what they'll do. 70% think that Saddam Hussein was behind the 9-11 attacks.

9. I trust the wisdom of "the American people"
more than I trust my own wisdom, me being only one person with limited perspective.

10. Will they be allowed to toss the scum out?
Or will Diebold, Faux News, and Ashcroft all work their magic and ensure that Dubya is not redefeated, no matter what the voters want?

11. Americans are really dumb.
No, I don't trust them. If the cabal gets thrown out, it's on dumb luck.

13. Not one tiny bit...
I don't trust the masses to do anything except what they are told. They have bought that GW is a "good Christian". They have bought the Iraq/9-11 lie. They buy every lie they are told.

What I think will happen if they take over again in 2003 is best described in this article by Ernest Partridge on Liberal Slant on 7/8/03: http://www.liberalslant.com/ep070803.htm

14. No. They are too susceptible to propaganda
when we had a free press, in the long run, you could count on them to generally do things that were not too stupid.

Now, they are bleating like sheep and being guided by Rove's propaganda machine.
