Repubs must be scared to death of Clark...
I'm a little surprised at the degree of their name-calling so soon. They usually don't go after an opponent unless they feel threatened. Just as they never went after Dean until he went to the head of the pack. But they go after Clark immediately !? What gives? No one would have more credibility criticizing the war than a 4-star general. And the war is all they have. It's almost as if he went into their kitchen and opened their refrigerator and started drinking all their favorite beverages. We'll have to see how Clark handles the criticism...or if he simply ignores it.

1. Clark's response
I think he'll handle the criticism something like this:

>>..Clark also lashed out at House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, a Texas Republican.

Early in the Iraq war, Delay criticized what he called the corps of "blow-dried Napoleons" who appeared on television to analyze the progress of the coalition invasion. Clark was a CNN military analyst during the conflict but no longer works for the network.

"When our airmen were flying over Kosovo, Tom DeLay led House Republicans to vote not to support their activities -- when American troops were in combat," Clark said. "To me, that's a real indicator of a man who's motivated not by patriotism or support for the troops but by partisan political purposes."<<

3. THEY ARE SCARED SHITLESS
If Clark was to become a part of a ticket, either front or back, the Pubs would be in serious shit and they know it.

This is one of the reasons they come here, to learn of the latest thoughts and concepts. They also try to denigrate all of the Dems, causing divisive results. To Divide and Conquer is their ploy. Can it work??

Only if we let them.

We should be thinking of how we can help the winning ticket, time and resources, to defeat the Pysops Pubs. It is they who are fucking up America with their greed and selfishness.

Come, we go plot too.

9. I LOVED that quote
That is precisely why I am a "blow dried napoleon" advocate.

Is that all you got Tom baby?

BRING IT ON!

2. could be reverse psychology?
I'm troubled by a Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR)advisory on media coverage of Clark's antiwar stance.

4. I am untroubled by it ...
After reading the article and searching far and wide for the actual documents from which they pulled quotations as well as their failure to provide links to same, I believe it to be a smear job, pulling things out of context. Even then, the quotations did not always support the conclusions drawn from them.

I expected more from FAIR but I was disappointed.

12. I found the London Times article
it's on free republic thanks to their illegal use of copyright laws.
I'll find it again and post later.

I hope your 27th post has more research behind it.

8. FAIR is full of it. They are the ones who started the controversy

over Clark's remarks on MTP about 9/11 and the bushies. An article was posted the other day which broke down the transcript the same way I did previously. In Clark's response to Tim, Clark was answering to separate answers. Yet, FAIR reported it wrong which led Paul Krugman report it from FAIR's angle.

Also, if FAIR were two really be fair, they would post or link the complete text of what Clark said or wrote. Wouldn't they? But they have chosen not to do that. Why?

Also, FAIR doesn't be able to distinguish between Clark's own views and his role as an analyst of the actions of the White House and Pentagon which was the capacity Clark served as on CNN.

Be very careful when trying to report on Clark. I have noticed that if an interviewer asks Clark a series of questions, before Clark responds he will go back with his excellent memory and command and answer every question in the order in which they were asked. That's what happened with the MTP interview, yet FAIR got it WRONG.

So, they should be fair and post the references instead of taking Clark's remarks out of context. Until they do that I have no use for reading their "interpretations" of what Clark said. After all, they were wrong before.

14. Not better-researched, but #27 is an apology..

FAIR is a group I've come to know and love through 'Counterspin', but maybe I jumped the gun in assuming they were right about this one.

My apologies to the Clark camp and to anyone else who took offense.

I would take a former general, who knows what war is, over a bunch of chickenhawks like we've got today, anyday. GOOOOO, CLARK!! ;)

6. They used to SUPPORT Dean!
Remember that, only a few months ago? The Freepers were going to vote for him in the primary so he'd be the nominee.

I fully expect and welcome the idiotic attacks on the frontrunners, especially Dean who is well equipped to counter them. Bring it the fuck on!

7. Kentuck you are
one of my favs on this board.
I really think that what the Pukes are afraid of the most is The TRUTH. It would not be that Clark is bound to have some connections at the pentagon that are not so happy with the turn of events since 01/01 would it?
I have thought and thought about the obvious lies coming out of Bush/Cheney and their henchmen and wondered if they are really that stupid(i guess they are) but they are really in the position that the TRUTH will not only end their election hopes but land most of them either in prison or on the table of final justice for their crimes. The one that brought this home for me was the leak about Wilson's wife. I mean it is out there for all to see that someone at the top Cheney?, Rove? is guilty of TREASON and the rest are guilty of AIDING AND ABETTING TREASON. The lies notwithstanding these grownups are up to their asses in serious offenses for which they must be tried. AS for Clark he may be the Democrat that the military establishment can get behind, as for me I am wondering if we really need a military man residing over the public teat these hogs need so bad.
As for you Kentuck, this is one hillbilly who relishes each of your posts, Keep up the good work fellow patriot.

10. Yeah, they've had 3 months to get ready...
They've had three months to get ready for Clark . I expect a flood of this kind of shit from these guys because (you nailed it!) they know he's a contender and they're nervous. This is the best they can do at this point. <nelson>HA HA</nelson>

The Clark campaign won't be hurting for money, either. I expect the ads for Iowa and NH, et al. are being produced as I write this. DLC knows lieberman is not going to be the man, and there'll be an assload of cash coming from hollywood. This should be an interesting couple of weeks.

Hang in there NC coast folks, I feel your pain.

11. Ohhh,
It's on every right wing media pundits list to talk about today. They are going crazy. Karl must have sent out a memo or something. Me thinks they are threatened. I hope none of our Democrat candidates jump on. If they can stay on Bush I think we will continue to see his numbers sink.
Any repug that says they are not worried is a liar.

You're kidding, right? They've had their knives out for Dean since the very beginning...that doesn't mean that Clark shouldn't be proud of the attention from the pubs...lord knows we Deaniacs are!
