2. When you consider the percentages
of people that vote and the correlated data about them, I think it's probably a safe assertion that most of them have internet access and rely on the internet for at least some amount of information. The percentages will only increase...

3. it's importance is HUGE seeing as how the media has been muzzled
The internet is all that's left. It's the only free press there is.

It's the only free expression left.

Thank God for the internet or we'd be FUCKED way worse than we are now.

6. The Internet is more important now than a year from now
When candidates will need to reach all of their potential voters -- and most of them get their "information" from TV, not the Internet.

However, we may be witnessing a sea change in how campaign money is raised.

7. When I was a kid we had 4 channels on TV
but at least there were actual investigative reporters . The Internet is a godsend...It is truly the only free press in the USA, imo....

8. More important than television
because the internet is active not passive. Strong net support is STRONG support. Because the net works in both directions, people feel more involved. I speak for myself, but think it applies to a lot of other people.

TV will still be the way people hear about what's going on on the internet.

9. Blankets and Bond fires, anyone?
What would we know, where would we be (politically and socially) if we did not have this means for sharing information?

One thing is for sure: IF the internet is perceived by the powers that be as a genuine threat, it will be neutralized. This means that you and I will have to find another way to send signals.
