I am actually enjoying this insanity..
Edited on Tue Sep-16-03 09:48 PM by TruthIsAll
This farce is funnier than any comedy of Shakespeare or Woody Allen or Oscar Wilde. And its sadder than any Greek tragedy.

Its more devastating than "1984" or "Animal Farm". Or "Mein Kampf".

In my wildest imaginings nothing ever came close to this real unreality: The Manchurian Candidate. Network. The Parallax View. Seven Days in May. Dr. Strangelove. Planet of the Apes. Being There. Executive Action. All of these great films were warnings. Now we are actually living through a combination of them all.

God help us all to survive this.

1. I keep thinking of that old Chinese curse:
"May you live in interesting times."

That about sums it up.

3. It's hard to believe that fiction has become reality.
It is. I read all those books in the past and saw all those movies. I never considered that they could become true.

4. May You Live In Interesting Times
I dunno what to think!

Never in my life could I have conceived that this level of absurdity, obfuscation, buffoonery, incompetence and parody would ever actually be Orwellian reality.

6. STUPID VOTING WILL GET YOU STUPID TIMES.
What we have here is the result of a system gone awry, constipated with Pub Pysops and sheepesque folloers who are too lazy to think on their own. Led by evil and selfish people who claim god is on their side, the sheep vote the fools in.

We now pay a price in blood and treasure.

5. Having read your posts, I believe that.
When people were talking about too many candidates, I said we should have 50 of them. May the 10 spread out through the land and suck the oxygen away from *.

8. the media...
apparently even many of the behind the scenes guys....are totally commited to bush and this neocon insanity.....even if they truly believe the official line on 911, you'd think THEY would be the most interested in finding out how our society could get kicked right in the head (in broad daylight), but they do not! It's a mystery of sorts; they BELIEVE in the mortal danger to the country, yet they do not care that the cause for the danger remains undefined beyond the self serving nonsense the WH is pushing.....
I recently read 'Babbitt' and that explains some, but why are the media industries in Canada/Australia/Uk etc also complicit?....I don't think MIHOP has been made by a major media figure anywhere in the world yet.....
Remember when Clinton's nominee for Attorney General (Zoe Baird) had to be withdrawn cuz she and hubby had a nanny who didn't have her papers in order?
omfg!

9. That's a fact
I sometimes wish I could take the George Carlin approach and just sit back and watch the show! The absurdity would be absolutely hysterical if it wasn't so tragic at the same time. Yes, TIA we are living in quite an historic time!
