Voters forced to recast ballots

Everyone who voted in the Student Government Association elections must recast their ballots because of an error in the software used to tabulate the votes found yesterday, the first day of voting.
Voting resumes today and will be extended until Friday. The SGA's electoral act requires three consecutive days of voting.
No votes for homecoming queen were counted because of the glitch, according to Gene Fitch, associate dean for student life.
All of the votes for the election are being thrown out, even votes for offices that were correctly counted.
"There was no way to prevent the problem", said Brittany Rogers, SGA election commissioner.
"Everything was working fine on the test system," Rogers said

I realize this isn't related to federal elections or to Diebold but it is an example of what is possible when you start voting with electrons even when "everything was working fine on the test system."
