is also my first thought, secondly I think he knows more of what the common people of this country go through on a day to day basis. He has had to live on a budget for alot of his adult life which is something the * has never had to do. Being in the military I believe that he would use "war" as a last result and will bring dignity and respect back to the citizens of this country. Alot of people around the world have very low opinions of us because we were stupid enough to "elect" the "idiot", present company excluded. I think that he would be an effective "diplomatic President". Plus I would pay and pay well to see him debate the idiot, that would be the comedy of the century and I could use a good laugh right now.

I know there's some kind of donation "cap" in the primary, but what is it, exactly?

I've already given generously to Dean, Edwards and Kerry; is the cap per candidate or per election cycle?

i believe it is total..if you give 100.00 to edwards, you are then allowed to give 1,900.00 spread out among the other 9 ...of course..you can give 2000.00 to your daughter, son and your spouse may also give that amount..it can amount to quite alot per family...i gave each of my daughters money to give in there own name as there is a law about not using any credit card that is not your own...in other words, i could not go online and give money with my credit card and then list them as the doner

And it's actually $1,000 per election, with primaries, run-off elections, and general elections all counted separately.

Dean, by the way, is currently functioning under a pledge not to accept any money from PACs (Political Action Committees). You can donate $5,000 per year to a PAC or state party committee that supports federal candidates.

So if your guy (in this thread, Clark) plans to accept money from PACs, go ahead and form one, and collect $5,000 per person from as many people as you can find. And if you have deep pockets yourself, make sure you contribute to as many different PACs as possible.

No, I'm not being sarcastic or ironic, merely helping out with information. Clark is getting a late start in this election cycle, and he's going to have to play catch-up in fund raising.

He is intellegent, swavvy, he knows for which he speaks, so many questions about his being a new comer. I don't buy it, he has been political and involved for many years. Started very positive today, good points never mentioned bush once, as a person (good move) and promised to lay out plans for the economy and national security.

I didn't support anyone special before this, so nobody can call me fickle. Clark CAN win and WILL win if we nominate him. On top of that, the debate where someone brings up service records will be worth being on PAY PER VIEW.

Say whatever else you want: Wesley K. Clark will MURDER Bush and be more than a fair to middling President. At this current stage of disaster, that's more than adequate.

He'll take the Dems,the military vote, the minority vote, much of the swing vote, and with his distinguished military career and the patriotic sentiment that still exists, many repub voters who are disgusted by bu$h and his cabal.

Those clips of Clark in uniform talking with other soldiers just made me downright giddy as a brilliant contrast to *'s carrier stunt.
And ant, I must confess I react similiarly (my mom too). So far, I like his positions; the fact that he spent over 30 years in the military and is now a liberal. Well, that speaks volumes of his intellect. And frankily, while I like most of the other candidates for one reason or another, none of them give me that "Presidential" feel that Clark does. His biggest challenge will be getting the nomination. Get that, and he smokes W. Oh, yes, my husband and I are giving - just got to figure out how much we can afford in W's economy.

because I believe he will beat Bush soundly, AND be a great President. He's the most attractive candidate in my lifetime - and I don't mean just his good looks.

My parents are lifetime Republicans. They would vote for Clark. It'd be the first time in my 25 years of voting that we agree on a candidate. Clark can easily pull millions of independents and moderate republicans. AND he can do this while being a progressive. Quite a trick.

The fact that he is a Rhoades scholar,has an engineering and economics degree was an economics professor and is easy on the eyes only enhances the total package.

22. I'm on my soapbox again about the electoral college

Sometimes when I read DU, I get the feeling that people don't make their decision based on the state that they live in. I live in Oklahoma and there is no way Kucinich or Dean or Kerry would win this state in a general election.

One of the reasons I like Clark is that I think he might actually have a chance to take Oklahoma. Oklahoma is where I cast my vote and I want it to count for something. It doesn't hurt that Clark is saying a lot of things that I like.
