Clark is "Obe One Knobi".
A new war would lock in the current admin with many voters unless there was a general that was ready to take the helm.

You might conclude that the WH has been keeping North Korea on the burner for the 2004 election. Keeping them hopping mad until sometime next year before an incident can develop. Would Americans allow for a weak untested democrat to take the helm during a crisis or would they stick with a bunch of nut cases that will use any means necessary to destroy the enemy.

Will absolute power corrupt this admin? I think we know the answer.
Can Clark provide a level of confidence to take over an administration in the middle of an engineered crisis.

Can america see through tv ads that will claim the security of america and the safety of it's citizens is based on not altering the course of leadership. I think america will buy anything sold by commercials if repeated often enough.

The democrat's response will need to be "Clark's leadership can guide us through this crisis and beyond to a better america.

Clark is "Obe one Knobi".

2. Why would...

you support a General? He has zero political experience, zero domestic issues experience. Granted, he has plenty of foriegn affairs and military affairs experience. He would make a fine VP, and I strongly support a Dean/Clark ticket, let him learn the ropes of politics for 8 years, then I will support a Clark presidency in 2012.

Right now, he's not ready.

This isn't meant to be an attack on Clark, but I just don't feel that he's ready yet. I think he'll be disappointed at the polls and drop out early. He came in far too late to join the primaries, and what's more - Clark's scheduling conflict on debates DOESN'T bode well for him at all. That's why I'm concerned that he's jumping the gun far too early.

P.S. I'm not an extreme leftist or I'd be a green. I'm a socialist, but I believe that Dean's issues fit better and resonates with most Americans. Even some Republicans are even looking into Dean as an alternate because he's a centrist, like Clinton, and will work with both sides of the aisle.

for anyone who has a (D) after his name on the ballot. I need to know his position on issues and his background.

9. General Kenobi. Years ago you served my father in the clone wars...
Yeah! I like the comparison! Fits nicely with the allegory of bush, Asskroft, Rumfilled and Colon Powell as the leaders of the empire.

11. Oh puhleeze people
I mean supporting your candidate is one thing, but worshiping at his feet like he was God is going just a little to far! I've been staying out of these panting pro Clark threads 'cause I knew they would get stupid, but this one just takes the cake!

Some of us are Star Wars geeks from way back. Just having some fun, though I really think this thread belongs in the lounge.

Be cool, man. Go to a happy place.

12. Opposing the "war with Iraq" is no longer the litmus test for some DUers.
Kerry will be a direct beneficiary. :-)
