How come Viagara and Enzyte have multimillion dollar ad campaigns...
But birth control is a "moral" issue?

When men get older and have trouble getting an erection, isn't that God's will that they don't have sex?

I will say I have recently seen an ad for a birth control patch for women, but it's not the freaky goofy "Bob" campaign.

1. My real beef
is why are ANY prescription drugs advertised? People see an ad and go to their doctor and then have a hissy fit if the doctor tells them it may not be the right medication for them. These ada are designed to sell high-dollar pills by getting people to override their docotor's best judgement. I can think of some street drugs that are cheaper than these advertised ones.

2. The Two Most Important Things To A Man Are Food (Drink) And Sex
Hence Multi-Million Dollar Ad Campaigns For Both. It Doesn't Matter What God Wants When It Comes To These Two Things.

3. Exactly. Why should they be having sex anyway?
Its only for reproduction. Nothing more.

4. Performance enhancers aren't just for old men anymore.

Pornography has become so much a part of our culture, and young males are exposed to it as such young ages, that jadedness and impotence often arrive soon after puberty these days. Once the hormonal rush of the teen years recedes, it takes a lot to excite males who have been exposed to hard core porn from their early school days. A mere desire to have kids with someone they love, just isn't going to do it.

The multi-billion dollar porn industry has been a boon to the big pharmaceutical companies, and there's nobody for guys to sue, so they're just stuck buying the pills.

As an older person who remembers when porn was relatively rare, I recognized the problem early on. I've actually never visited a porn site or purchased porn videos or magazines. In fact, due to the sexual freedom of the 60s, I was already concerned about how jaded I had become before porn became so readily available, and I had no desire to become impotent before my time.

By the time that younger people realize what has been taken from them, it is too late for them to do anything about it. It isn't a mistake or random spamming that causes schoolkids to get ads for Viagra, Levitra, Cialis, etc., in their email. Big pharma knows how quickly they'll be needing that stuff and wants to get the brand names imprinted early. Of course, along with those ads, they get ads from porn sites. It would take too much bandwidth to detail how many different email filters I tried before I found a way to eliminate all that garbage completely before it reached my inbox. Suffice it to say that much of my email is forwarded through 3 different filters before it gets to my primary email address.

6. Do you make this crap up as you go along?
I don't suppose you want to provide a link to a reputable study that shows a link to porn and impotence? Maybe because there isn't one?

Actually, teens are bored and mostly avoid porn. Here's a link to some very recent articles:

http://www.gazettetimes.com/articles/2005/04/26/news/opinion/1tuesed426.txt

http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/la-et-genporn23apr23,1,5513390.story?ctrack=1&cset=true

Both my wife and I enjoy porn, but we certainly don't need it to get it up, or is it a substitute for real sex. Porn does not cause impotence, period.

sex is for procreation only!
