Randi Rhodes just told a story about Limbaugh
that just confirms that the man is insane or just plain evil. Randi is broadcasting from Florida and mentioned that since she's driving to the station she's been able to listen to the, as she calls him 3 hour hate monger.

Anyway, she says this young woman calls in to his show and ID's herself as a journalism student and wanted advice from Limpballs on how to break into journalism. He told her:

Destroy someone personally. The news media will pay attention.

Then she asks, "You mean look up facts and write a story about them?"

"He says no, just make up anything about them. Trash the person, make up a scandal. The media will take notice."

I'm just blown away. This man is just pure evil!!! :grr:

1. bastard
he's vert intelligent, wants to make it seem to his listeners that most scandals now are fake, just made up by reporters on a whim. he's protecting Bush, the 9/11 coverup probably

6. oooo, that's fiendishly clever--to discern that, I mean.
It has occurred to me more than once that there is a movement afoot to discredit all media. I believe it is the next stage in the grand neocon plan--get ALL the people to doubt ALL media, to not believe a word anyone says; then the people's mind will be a tabula rasa, just ready to be imprinted by the one authority that remains--the government.

This is why I don't wish for the demise of MSM. I'd rather we attempt to save & rehabilitate it.

3. I wonder if he was being facetious?

Maybe he thought she wasn't on his side? I dunno, cause that sounds just plain silly if ya know what I mean!

After reading poster #1 I agree - it's to deflect from Bush's scandals. "They're all lies, lies I tell ya - damned reporters!"

7. No he was serious
When she first called in, she told him she was a conservative journalism student and she wanted advice from him on the best way to become a journalist.

Randi said even she was blown away by his statement. She did say that his producer must have said something to him because before he let this caller go, he told her to follow her heart and left it at that.

9. But then this RW ass hole called up and was sure he was being facetious
I dunno? Maybe he know that he can say anything and RW'ers will simply believe he is somehow being clever. I do know his listeners are the biggest bunch on morons on the planet - that I am sure of.

4. Is it possible
his comment was meant to be a criticism of the (liberally biased, sure Rush, whatever you say) media, a way of saying his hillbilly heroin scandal was actually the media's fault? You know, just another "poor little me" aria by a conservative victim drama queen?

5. That was my reaction too
It's not like Rush sees anything noble in the journalism profession. He hate's journalists almost as much as Ann Coulter.

8. hmmm -- probably he's so narcissistic (sick) that he can't separate
i think he has de-humanized his enemies (us) to the point where anything that befalls us is fair play -- if it happens to him, it's cry baby time.
