Gergen: Bush and team carefully orchestrating a step back from rhetoric.
Olbermann asked Gergen if "They were trying to rewrite history?". Gergen, of course, would'nt bite but kept up his strained explanation that they were stepping back from the 'impression' they left of a Saddam-Al Quida connection. He sounded like he had labored long and hard to keep from calling Bushco liars. Apparently he has never heard of a sin of ommission or that old saw "silence indicates assent".

5. He can't call it what it is....because his job is to show with "silence
and pained expression" what he really means. He's subtle.....you'd have to know Gergen. I've always liked him......even when other DU'ers trashed him.....as a two timer.....paid for hire.

I feel he's been consistent over the years.......and there aren't any others I can say that about. So, as a Gergen watcher I know........when the networks bring him back.......a president is in trouble.......Bush is in trouble....or we wouldn't be seeing Gergen......He's the best at articulating that to folks who know him......or have seen him through the years.

Thanks for the posts here. I missed the show with Gergen tonight....it's good to keep up.

3. Want to bet that they will back sloooowly away on one thing
after another all the way to summer '04. Then when confronted by their lies, they can say "what political crap by our opponents we never did, said, stated this that or the other thing". And just like the mantra "Gore lied", the morons will believe them.

4. But we'll still be stuck in Iraq and the economy will still suck
and the deficit will still be in the gazillions. There just isn't any way out for these cheap labor criminals.

6. Oh, honey we're stuck in Iraq for at least the next 20 years.
I grew up during the Viet Nam War and Bushco sounds just like LBJ to me.
