Do You Really Want Cheney to be Dumped??
I sure don't. There have been a lot of threads about the troubles piling on Cheney and that Bush seems to be distancing himself from him, etc. Thus, many seem to be getting wired at the prospect of the marriage falling apart and Cheney dumped for '04. I want that ugly, son of a bitch, with the personality of a snake, right where he is. I want THAT on national tv against our VP candidate. I don't want Bush to be able to quick grab someone to save his sorry ass. Let's hope they kiss and make up. And you can bet he would grab for a Rudy or some other of "our nations heroes in time of tragedy" crap.

1. I want a scandal!
Yes, Cheney out - in disgrace - and hounded after he leaves. It will give the administration the black eye it so richly deserves.

You don't climb back from that. The whispers won't allow it even if he leaves for the health pretense.

4. It would be a very meaningful symbolic gesture

A shrewd counter-move to head off incipient discontent in the voting classes, that would have minimal impact on strategic/operational events, as Mr Cheney's actual role would remain unchanged.

5. I agree
Even if he is dumped, he will still work his evil ways - he'll just have two puppets instead of one to carry his dirty water.

And a replacement will suck the air out of any attention media gives to Dems.

6. I want them to hang together.
A huge scandal; American soldiers' blood for Cheney's personal wealth; WA's stupidity in letting it happen; biggest defeat ever in an election.

7. I agree completely
As much as I can't stand to look at that greedy/evil/pileofshit I think he's more valuable to us right where he is.

8. I don't know if he can dump Unka Dick anyway
Cheney knows too much, and would he still enjoy "executive priviledge" as a civilian? I could just see him being subpoenad by a grand jury investigating 9/11 or EnergyGate. Of course, the strain of that would probably kill him. I think the best hope the Bushies have now is that Cheney will code sometime soon and take what he knows to the grave.

9. The question I would ask
is how is the negotiations for the new UN resolution going, which I havn't heard much about in the last couple of days, and why is this croping up right in the middle of it.

10. They think if they cut Cheney loose...
all the toxic stuff they've done will just float away on the barge with him. Nuh-uh! I agree with you. Frankly, I want Cheney and every single member of the Bush administration to pay for their crimes. Maybe Cheney will go out with a heart attack on national tv in mid-lie, the evil sneer still on his face, until it quickly dissapates, replaced by a look of horror as demons come to drag his soul to hell. Okay, that's a bit harsh, but at this point, I'm beyond angry and disgusted with this entire administration and all the dipwads who still support the bush, and the press who will no doubt cover his ass by laying all the dirt on Cheney.

11. I agree Starpass, when I asked if Cheney is dumped, I was considering
what they are thinking. If Dick Morris is advocating putting Powell inb as VP, believe me they are considering doing that. We want to win the problem is they want to win too and will pause for nobody or nothing to do it.

12. You guys are very right about the damn media being ever so
happy to go along with the "game plan" and try to save this piece of shit's ass by blaming all the Bush boo-boos on terrible Unka Dick. That's why I want him to stay. And you just know and feel it in your bones that the media would go along and sell us that crap on a silver platter---no doubt whatsoever.

19. To megamale strongarmers, this would be a terrible admission
Their noses should be rubbed in it, and to the other silly would-be tough-guy supporters, it smells like weakness, guilt and indecision.

It's fine by me, it can be trumpeted as fear of facing litigation, and keep the chorusing alive from our side. Proto-masculine thugs can't admit mistakes, they'll lie about health and things like that.

If they try to deflect any guilt onto him afterwards, it'll make them look like liars, and if he isn't there anymore, Junior bears much more public culpability for the wickedness of this mobs'scrimes. Sounds great. Sharpen the sticks and let's have a Cheney roast.

Because then Bush could put Powell or someone else with broader appeal on the ticket for 2004.

16. bush &dick for 2004...
so that we can kick both their ugly faces to hell, where they all belong.

But knowing the bush evil family, they'll murder dick and call it a final massive heart attack. If the bushie evil people, select Powell, black people hate powell the water boy. Little bushie loves criminals, he'll probably pick his friend Ken Lay.

17. Quite the opposite, actually
My thread says it's Rove's move to push Shrump toward the center--lay off all the bad stuff on Dickie. Announce proudly and happily that he's going to be Spending More Time with His Family instead of enduring the grueling travails of the campaign trail (that bad heart!), and then let it be known--under the table, just to all them friendly pundits they've got on the payroll--that he's really the one responsible for all the bad stuff. His idea to invade Iraq, pushing CIA to produce bad intel, etc.

Do I want this move to succeed? Not hardly. I'm with you: I don't want his ouster to be orchestrated in a way that benefits the shrump, but that's how it's shaping up, I think. if he goes down I want it to be with major stink bombs going off all over the place making the admin look as corrupt and incompetent as it truly is. But if I were Rove, this is how I'd play it.

There has to be SOME explanation why they let him go off and spout all the old lies so forcefully on Sunday when they knew--KNEW I say--they were going to head off in this new direction, experimenting with, like, honesty 'n' stuff, this week. This has not unfolded like a miscommunication or a mistake within the admin. I don't subscribe to the "Rove Is All Powerful, All Knowing" theory, but they KNOW what their guys are going to say when they go out on these shows--most "on message" admin in history. So it had to be deliberate.

We have enough ammo with our two poster boys for incompetence and arrogance. Rummy needs to go, and his henchmen with him.

21.  I say "dump dick"
I know there are lots of DU:ers who want him to stay and take his medicine, but...

If he gets thrown out, it's going to cause total chaos and confusion. Stratfor has already reported that the administration is currently in a "state of disarray". Lots of fingers pointed at each other, plenty of fists pounding the table, each accusing the other.

...don't we all want to see this? Isn't this the moment we've all been waiting for? It's going to be that much harder for them to recover. After all, wasn't he the kingpin of them all?
