The WMD report has been delayed. Today they came clean on the Saddam/terrorist connection bullshit.

Why? Perhaps because they no longer need it. They are holding back some planted or WMD "program" evidence.

They let the naysayers jump on the 9/11 & Saddam connection and then release info on the "we said along it was the WMD's".

I could be very wrong. I just can't think of any other reason why they would essentially cave on the 9/11/Saddam rhetoric.

6. Apparently they never had any evidence

other than statements from people who stood to gain. They were convinced of their own propaganda. It makes them grossly incompetent, and less evil. The Republican base is prepared to forgive evil. Incompetence is another matter and we will see. But the disapproval numbers are very dangerous for them (and any foreign leader that gets in their way right now) and they have a strong need to stop the bleeding now, not later. So if they had something, they would use it. The fact that they are backpeddling now indicates that they no longer believe that they will find the promised WMD and are trying to take their hit now rather than later in hopes of saying that the lack of WMD is old news and everyone has been repeating for months how they supposedly never said WMD or 9/11/Iraq connection. Revisionist history indeed.
