So, let me get this straight. No WMD, No 9/11 link.
When do the impeachment hearings begin? The iraqi war is a criminal act, and everyone that has died at the hands of the evil dictator Bush, has died for nothing.

Bush is a lying murderer. And history will show him this way. he has shamed our country before the whole world. What idiots we are, at least 70% of us.

and absolutely no reason to attack a country and overthrow their government. But they hate us for our freedom, right? :eyes:

2. I agree with you, when do they start?
Whom can we, the populi, pressure into doing so? I think it's time to start a movement to do this, now that they have admitted they used our military for personal gain.

4. Let's go over the situation again
For an impeachment trial you need:

A majority of votes in the House

Then, the case goes to the Senate, where it's presided over by the Chief Justice...

Repukes at every turn!!!!

5. Shouldn't this be part of the process.
and not political. A president lies to the nation in order to get it into an illegal war. Isn't that criminal behavior?

6. Yep, you got it.
It would be a huge waste of time. I would however, like to see proceedings started, even though we already know what the outcome would be, atleast it'd be on the record for all of posterity and maybe more of the public would come to know how truly evil this administration is.

Shouldn't George be called Butcher of Baghdad now?

10. Butcher of Baghdad. I like that.
It would have been in an earlier time more appropriate for Saddam, but unfortunately our President has outdone Saddam. Crazy, isn't it?

9. Correcto!
What a bunch of crap they sold the 'Murkan sheeple! Let's kill us some muslims! It is a very scary thing how bloodthirsty Americans are. Rationalize, rationalize, obfuscate, blah, blah, blah. Even many Dems ignore the gross immorality of bombing the shit out of a defenseless country then occupying with an incompetent, scared police force (military) that has been brainwashed by Iraqis (recall how Hollywood movies for years made Arabs the bad guys?). Why don't the other countries of the world band together and have these guys arrested and put on trial?

12. The US won't do it but the UN should.
The U.N. should totally gang up on Bushco and nail them for all this. They should all be sent to the Hague and wait in line to be tried behind Milosevic. The US invasion of Iraq was at least as bad as what the Serbs were doing to the former Yugoslavia.

Why does the US get away with a pass? Is the US above the law? Or is it simply "might makes right"?

13. Never.
Bush will not be impeached. I do not think Democrats could muster the 2/3. They don't seem to even want to try, to that extent.

I don't think I support impeachment. If I understand it correctly, that would prevent criminal charges being filed? If so, I'd much rather Bush be tried for war cimes. Or served some street justice. :)

Of course, many of us knew all along there was no 9/11 link and few if any WMDs. We knew the war was unjustified. It was colonial piracy.

As you say, when do the impeachment proceedings begin? While we're at it, let's make sure an international tribunal is constituted.

15. Yep..no WMD, no 9/11 link..but Shrub did have a Grudge to settle
You see..right after Clinton took office Sadaam tried to have a hit carried out on Bush Sr. when the former president visited Kuwait.

Shrub took the assasination attempt personally and decided to do his best to whack Sadaam and his two sons.

Not that Sadaam and his boys didn't deserve to be whacked...

Meanwhile North Korea and Iran are going full steam ahead with manufacturing Weapon's grade plutonium...

16. so what, we got Tony Soprano running the country?
you sound happy about it, java.

Bush and Hussein should have just faced each other with swords or pistols and gone at it. Would have saved a lot of money and lives.

19. I thought that "Saddam tried to kill my Dad"
Edited on Thu Sep-18-03 12:03 AM by Kool Kitty
affair was debunked. And if it wasn't, I think that is a personal matter, not a reason to send our soldiers over there. Poppy was no longer president then. If George was so upset about it (which is certainly understandable if the plot was true), then he should have gotten his gun and settled it himself. But that's just my opinion.

21. Our soldiers are dying for nothing.
Well, not quite nothing. They are dying for Chevrons dominion over iraqi oil. They are dying so that Bush and Co. could add even more money to their coofers, like they need more. I guess world domination is an expensive habit.

It is so sad that so many people bought and continue to buy into this madness.

23. Why aren't parents /friends of soldiers in Iraq marching in the streets?
I can't understand their over-all silence. If it were me I would be camped as close to the W.H. as I could get and be banging on my pots and pans so the resident had difficulty sleeping.

I think that they are stunned and shamed. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that the anti war demonstratins kick into full speed. We need to go nuts out there on this issue.

25. Silence of parents/friends of troops is quite understandable to me
I believe these people want to do the right thing at all times. Their hearts are good. For generations now, doing the right thing has equated to defending the country when it is attacked and supporting the president when the country has been attacked.

"In times of national emergency, we have to put our differences aside and stand united," the reasoning goes. I do think that, for most of our nation's history, that's been a basically safe line of thought. UNTIL, that is, the supposed president could not or would not stop an attack from happening--or Let It Happen On Purpose.

So the good folks out in the countryside rally around a leader who wants nothing more than to use such an attack for monetary and political gain (never mind how many troops die). You can even see how they were taken in, because they think that what they see on The News is the truth.

Now, with no Weapons of Mass Destruction having been found in Iraq and the daily stream of "we never said that" coming from the White House, the families and friends of American service personnel in Iraq are coming to the conclusion that The President has lied to us all. Here's another Viet Nam--or worse. How could this happen again?

These people are just going through the equivalent of finding out that there is no God. They are in total and utter shock. An institution that they have been taught from elementary school forward that is completely safe to believe in has turned out to be a Trick of Satan.

When they do wake up, bu$h is toast. FRENCH toast.
