13. That's true, and supporting both is also an option
I like Clark a lot/think he has a good chance to win. While Dean is the more experienced politician, Clark has some instant winnability factors attached to him.

I also started to like Kerry more recently - it took a while to warm up to him, but it finally happened.

I'm dedicated at this point to supporting all of them (except Lieberman, sorry, no can do.) The ones I think have the best chance of winning (Dean, Clark, Kerry, Gephardt) I'm going to support a little extra.

Edwards, Graham, and any of the candidates above could find themselves VP candidates, as well. Sorry, I don't see the others not mentioned as having a shot.

From this point on, I'm going to talk them up/talk Bush down. If someone does something glaringly bad, I'll say something, but for the most part, it's pumping up, going for the win time for me.

2. In the spirit of
Clark's call to deal with the issues and not engage in attacks, I will offer this suggestion. THere are a couple of months until the first primary. Listen to what each has to say. You don't have to decide tonight.

11. I heard yesterday...
Edited on Thu Sep-18-03 07:40 AM by imax2268
as I was surfing throught the news channels...Brite Hume was on and he kept saying that Clark was attacking Bush...?

He would say..."let's go to the tape and listen to Clark as he attacks Bush"...He would not stop saying it...

Excuse me...?

I didn't hear Clark say anything that...to me...sounded like an attack on Bush...he was saying what just about every other candidate has said...why is it that when someone questions and states their opinion that BushCo is doing a bad job for this country...it's called "attacking"...

Now in my mind...if Clark was to say..."Fuck Bush...he's an asshole"...to me that's an attack...

12. Clark criticizes Bush's policies - if that's what Brat calls an attack
His policies are ripe for the criticism. Clark just calls it like he sees it. It's called the adult world. It's called reality. It's called politics.

If Brat likes to call it an attack, so be it. Brat's allegiance to his master is so complete, he must construe anything as an attack to be defended. If his master ceases to exist, from where will he get his orders? He will be lost.

3. I'm sticking with Dean...
...because I think he can weather this hostile political climate better. Clark has never campaigned for a political position before.

That's a big question - tribute or future agenda. Tough decision. Although I like my bike a whole lot and am not into looking at someone else's face all the time.

4. Thanks for your honesty
I think you're exactly where you should be. This should be a HARD choice because this isn't a class presidency or cheerleading position we're talking about - this is the Presidency of the United States.

That said, I think it's great that you're keeping an open mind. I am 100% behind Clark because I think foreign policy is critically important and has significant ramifications on our economic state. I also think he can assemble and discuss a cogent and practical economic plan to get us back on track.

So please go check out General Clark - you can not only find a great resource on his website at www.americansforclark.com but also on digitalclark.com where you can see him discuss a variety of issues from free trade to affirmative action and of course foreign policy.

8. a question
which candidate do you prefer, candidate C or candidate D?

candidate C: "I haven't declared that I'm a democrat - yet." for months C refuses to declare his party affiliation, but hints that he's a democrat. finally admits it on national TV. a week later, C is running for the dem nomination. but it emerges that this new democrat voted for Reagan (or at least "imagines" he did), and raised money for the repubs as recently as 2 years ago.

candidate D: roars, "I'm from the DEMOCRATIC wing of the democratic party!"

i think that's a pretty clear choice.

9. That's why we have some time till primaries.
Watch the debates. Read the positions (what candidates say, not what media, detractors do).
For me it was the NRA thingy that made me chose. After that, I simply got inspired by his speech:

aher: They all talk about the military, though very few of them served,
like mmm-mmm (pointing to Bush doll). I want to read you a quote,
because Howard Dean said "...In Vermont, you know, politics is much
farther to the left. A Vermont centrist is an American liberal right
now." And then his campaign manager came out and said "That's not an
admission he's a liberal!" Which, quite frankly pissed me off. Somehow
they hijacked that word. And you're a Democrat, you said that last week.

Clark: Absolutely. (audience applause)
Maher: OK. I'm just wondering, of all the people who have the
credentials to say "liberal" is not a bad word, I'm wondering if I could
get you to say that.
Clark: Well, I'll say it right now.
Maher: Good for you!
Clark: We live in a liberal democracy. That's what we created in this
country. It's in our constitution! We should be very clear on this...
this country was founded on the principles of the enlightenment. It was
the idea that people could talk, have reasonable dialogue and discuss
the issues. It wasn't founded on the idea that someone would get struck
by a divine inspiration and know everything, right from wrong. People
who founded this country had religion, they had strong beliefs, but they
believed in reason, and dialogue, and civil discourse. We can't lose
that in this country. We've got to get it back."

I jumed up from my seat and became a member of the draft group after this one. But that's just me.

10. Think of it this way
Dean is the people's canditate while Clark is the anyone but Dean canditate that the DLC & beltway dems want to run because since it is obvious the Democratic Party establishment is scared to death that Dean may actually pull this off - get the nomination and win the Presidency. Banks, international corporations, the WTO and similar entities don't care if you are a Republican or Democrat, as long as they have their claws in you. They prefer Republicans but will get along just fine with a Democrat as long as they can control him. Dean is thriving because of us and not them. Their boys Kerry and Gebhardt and Lieberman and Edwards are being trounced by Dean, so, now we have Clark.

14. Be wary of the Dem PNACers
very very wary.

One thing we do know for sure - the Dem PNACers are afraid of Dean. Looks like several of them are working hard for Clark though. Time will tell.
